as i am very much the sacred age of 15 my must haves are simple basic

but still i am a man who respects originiality

2 certain look- basics, slim, i used to dress very flamouyantly wtih super layering over my distressed diesels but then i realised i looked massively gay so i toned it down with simple outfits and i like what i am doing. i like making my own stencils and spray painting over the target white v necks, it looks great after a few washes.

ha. i wish i realised that as early as you. and i agree with the stencils.

here's some shirt i did a couple of months ago.

i made this mid last year for a show

we made several each using the same stencil but in a different pattern

this was mine ( the rest have probably all been ripped to peices during some intense rocking and probably some rolling too)

its also the only shirt i own where the graphic is on the back and the front is blank

however its became my weekend shirt due to some shoulder ripping from some intense ultimate frisbee

Guest Fade to Black

1. fashion must-haves - well tailored black jacket, good pair of worn jeans, worn-in cashmere knitwear (preferably in black), the perfect suit (including trousers), plain white v-neck t-shirts, button down shirts in solid black and white with good cut and material, a pair of well crafted leather dress shoes or boots, a pair of dirty worn in sneakers

2. your current style or look - rumpled, minimalist, anti-fit

3. fashion dont's - don't be too conscious of what you're wearing, usually this applies to more expensive clothing i guess. I think Pierce Brosnan had a nice quote, went something like: "It's like getting in a Ferrari. If you think about it too much, don't get in the car."

4. what should be in a man's closet - same as my fashion must-haves...i don't think a man's closet should be too fussy and overdone. just the essentials for me.

5. favorite brands - Yohji Yamamoto, Dior Homme by Hedi Slimane

1)Vehemently disagree about the bootcut jeans. I sincerely hope they are a passing fad. I believe the complete opposite, a fashion must have is a narrower, straight leg anything -- not just jeans -- go ahead and get that cut in your corduroys, slacks etc. You will look so much slimmer, taller and sharper. I think the whole baggy thing looks ridiculous on anyone who isn't fat and just ultimately makes one look sloppy. Summer is ending soon but I just wanted to plug the reasonbly cut swim trunks. It's time American men got over their prudishness. No, a swimming trunk cut to the mid thigh does not automatically make you look gay or ridiculous. On the other hand, wearing those ubiquitous long surfer shorts that go to the knees when you're not a long blond haired 18 year old brat on spring break in California, makes you look like you're having a midlife crisis. I'm not saying we should all jump into thongs now, I'm saying we should all grow up.

2)eh, dunno how to characterize my current look.. Muted Downtown? ha ha ha

3)Don't wear anything that doesn't fit your body shape/frame no matter how nice or expensive it is! That also goes with matching your age with your style. If you've got a little tummy roll, don't wear that tight Dolce & Gabbana tshirt, if you're grey haired and look like a college professor, don't wear "ironic" tshirts with "amusing" catch phrases

4)As others have said before me: a good, tailored suit, nice shoes, slacks or khakis or something other than jeans, a blazer!

5)I don't necessarily have favorite brands as I do favorite stores: Odin, Saks, Paul Smith (well I guess that's a brand, but I love every little knick knack they have in that store), Atrium when I'm feeling a little loose.

I live in California, which is the ultimate excuse for wearing exactly whatever the fuck I feel like to the beach. Yeah, that's right, it's cause I'm local that I can wear three pairs of swimtrunks sewn together with an extra leg.

But yeah, I agree, slim fitting swimwear is nice, although mid-thigh is a bit of a stretch. I'll give about an inch above the knee.

1) Slim, crisp dress shirts; lots of jackets and outerwear -- waist length, hip-length; t-shirts in neutral tones (black, white, grey) and a few colorful ones for layering (and a very few, carefully-edited graphic tees); slim, dark denim; dark, well-fitted wool dress pants; light and dark sneakers; dark crewneck and v-neck sweaters; military-inspired accessories; one pair black and one pair brown dress shoes and coordinating belts; at least one tie; one flattering pair of sunglasses; CDG fragrance; at least one good bag; very little jewelry.

2) Minimalist, understated, slightly military-inspired with attention paid to details and material.

3) Big, blousy or untucked dress shirts (esp. under jackets); suit jackets with jeans; big, clunky dress shoes; logos and loud branding; pleated pants; hoodies under sportscoats (sorry, I think this look is plaaayed); sleeveless anything; shorts; creative haircuts; wraparound sunglasses; huge, junky skater watches; &c. &c.

4) see 1.

5) Nice Collective, Surface To Air, Martin Margiela, Helmut Lang, Dior, Cosmic Wonder, Adidas.

1. fashion must-haves

simple raw denim; edwin at the moment, unlogoed tees in black, white and grey, clean underwear; boxer briefs, black or grey hoody; no logos, hitop chucks in grey of black.

2. your current style or look

i pay a lot of money to look very bland.

3. fashion dont's

denim shorts. short sleeved business shirts. lycra. guys in girls jeans.

4. what should be in a man's closet

clothes that make him feel comfortable, physically, emotionally and socially.

5. favorite brands

hanes, apc, AA (although big questionmark on their ethics at the moment), mjolk, ourspot, rittenhaus, nomme de gurre, edgar, would vintage be considered a brand? at least semiotically?. and alas, nike, but that relationship is always up for review.

1. slim jeans, slimish oxfords with button down collars, lace-up dress shoes with rounded narrow toe and almost no sole, interesting slip-ons, slim lumberjack flannels, wayfarers (preferrably in white), oversized sweatshirts

2. nth wave minimalism

3. the lastnightsparty look, head to toe american apparel, hypermaximalism (enough with the 75 layered dagger/horn/coin necklaces + 7 oversized tank tops + leggings + boots), gauchos on girls, i could go on on and on.

4. a good pair of jeans, a good v-neck sweater, a good suit, most of #1 above

5. steven alan, apc, raf, miu miu, dior, brendan donnelly

1. Fashion must-haves

For me since I am young and a student, denim, slim fitting button-downs and shirts in general. Skinny ties, pair of driving loafers and dress ones. Boots. Lots of v-neck sweaters in understated colors that I can throw on before school in winter. Lots of outerwear to switch it up once in awhile hehe.

2. Current style or look

I always try to better myself as a person so my style changes constantly if that makes any sense. Right now I look like a streetwear kid that's into high fashion or something lol. I have no problems wearing a bape tee (ya I said it) with my Dior homme jeans with a Marc Jacobs bomber and prada pointy toe boots. I wear whatever I like. I'm young and I like to have fun with my style before I hit 30 and wear white capris with brown loafers and a beige v-neck with white button down underneath like my mom wants me too.

3. Fashion don'ts

I have a lot to say about what I don't like, but when it comes down to it people should wear whatever they like. Sure they will be judged but if they like it then it's ok. Ok well there's one, dressing for the wrong occasion.

4. What should be in a man's closet

classic stuff and modern stuff.

5. Favorite brands

Bape (ya I said it), Dior Homme, Nudie, Levis, APC, Thomas Pink, Paul Smith, Hermes, Bottega Veneta

yes westbrook i did

we made like 4, each member of the band wore on during taht show but they were each different, but used the same stencil

but most of them have been lost in the giant mess that is my brothers room, and that is the only surviving one taht i know of

i reccomend making your own shirts its a fun experience.
