Where to shop SF local designers?

As I posted before, I'm going to SF this august... i would love to support the local designers and labels(by shopping, obviously), but I have no idea where to go to buy. Last year i did the usual Haight st./ Union sq shopping tour... Haight was nice but I fell into lots of vintage stores and overpriced urban wear, Union sq was too commercial. I don't have a sky high budget (meaning i don't want to spend 80$ for a top)... What can you guys recommend? I'm going to be going to berkeley a lot too. I have to say that my style is borderline trendy (zara, h&M) so please let me know accordingly!
