tokyo gas closing party pics

tonight was the closing party for gas. (http://www.shift.jp.org/gas/01e.html)

they gave away the whole shop. people walked away carrying huge amounts of stuff. dvd's, tshirts, books, bags in beautiful packaging.

here are some pics. they are all kinda drunken snaps and blurry and of nothing in particular. sorry.

... it was only posted on superfuture front page AND here on supertalk. the lesson for everyone is to check superfuture more often.

and in some of the photos you see the piles of boxes on tables. there were literally stacks and stacks with 5 main dvd/tshirt box sets. they could have been yours. outside the party you saw people stacking them into bike baskets, or going to the conbini to get plastic bags to carry everything. it just got mad.. like the shop was being looted by angry tokyo party posers.

it is moving to harajuku.

it is a big shame..... naka meguro is the nicest place in tokyo, particularly in spring time with all the cherry blossoms.

But from what I can see, it's only opening a temporary shop in Harajuku (at Foret), right?

And I'll admit that I don't check Superfuture's front page very often. As for Supertalk, I check the first two sections daily, but not the other ones (as they're not as active).

Oh well, my loss. Probably couldn't have made it anyway (coming back home from work late and all).

this is off topic, but, chad, what do you do in tokyo? my sister currently lives there and i'm going back in september for 3-4 weeks. i am considering moving there for 1/2 - 1 year..

i'm not sure what the hell to do though...any help would be appreciated! (i don't really want to teach english)
