GLENN vs. OLA dry denim deathmatch!!!

Recommended Posts

I got a question, as a newbie to this site, but not to denim... I'm wondering about the nudie FG vs. the Ola... basically, which one is a tighter fit? I rock RRDG's right now and Im in love with the dry denim... I want more... I just dont wanna pair of dry denim super snug up on me in all the wrong places... help appreciated, thanks

welp, see ya later...

not so much fun as in.... not selvedge? I guess thats another question of mine... I have selvedges in my wealth-o-jeans, but no dry ones... is there really that huge of a difference in how a pair of selvedge wears and fades in as opposed to non selvedge (ie. my RRDG's) Or does it just come down to the overall quality/weightyness of the denim? Like i said, Im new to the dry-game...

welp, see ya later...

No it's not because it's not selvage, it's just a thinner fabric in the ola/glenns (12oz i believe) and it's softer and harder than others to break in. I've never seen ola denim broken in beautifully, but that's just my oppinion.

Well, do you have any suggestions? Im tryin to get my dry denim weight up... Im not too into the streaky svens... and I would like a pair os RRDS, but I wanna find a good deal on them... Those new veggie wash RR's are beautiful, but intimidatingly pricey... Im a poor college student ya know... anything a denim scenester could put me up on? nothing too skinny (ie. Olas) and it doesnt have to be nudie, they are just my first loves...

welp, see ya later...

Wait a couple months. Nudie is coming out with an Ola in heavy denim at the end of the summer. Its called Dry Muchacho (No, I'm not kidding) and I'm pretty sure it'll kick ass. They're only going to cost $155 too, so i'm excited.

This is true. I got a pair of Ola's and noticed that something wasn't quite right. It's much lighter and harder to break in, and it gets soft very quickly and easily.

The idea sounds good stylishly (muchacho's that is) but logistically, I dunno. Granted the heavier denim will fade better and become a nice finished product, I feel that the fit of the ola, being tight in a lot of the wrong places will be trouble. Notonly is the denim gonna be all up in your kool aid, but it will be thicker and heavier... making your jeans smell like taint the first day it hits 70 outside... in any case, anyone know a good online shop besides the obvious ones google slaps you with?

welp, see ya later...
