This is a pair of size 11M vintage suede hiking/mountaineer boots from Dunham, which was one of the very first companies making this sort of boot. Here's information from the New Balance (owner since '98) website:

"Dunham's Roots go back over a century to Brattleboro, Vermont where in 1885 George and Charles Dunham first opened the "Dunham Brothers" shoe store to sell their hand crafted boots. This was a time when pioneers lived to explore and challenge the outdoors. Serving the needs of those pioneers is what inspired the Dunham Brothers to create Dunham Bootmakers. Dunham introduced America to its first alpine hiking boot, the Waffle Stomper, more then a quarter century ago. Made in Montebelluna, Italy this original mountaineering boot, the boot with the “red lace”, raised hiking technology to a new level. The Original Waffle Stomper is an inspiration to all our hiking product."

These were made in the US, and have Vibram soles and Goodyear welts (meaning the soles can be replaced by any cobbler). The uppers show some wear (which the photos show), but the insoles and Vibram outsoles are in fantastic shape with lots of life left. They have three speed hooks at the top, and a really interesting triple tongue. There's a regular tongue in soft leather, and then, for waterproofing, two pieces of the vamp that cross over that. You can see it best in the third photo.

Since sizing is hard, even on new boots, let me give a little more information about that. They measure 12 3/4" (external sole length), 4 3/8" (external forefoot max width), 3 5/16" (external heel max width), and 11 1/2" (internal length). I'm a 12D on a Brannock device (12 in Allen Edmonds, 12 in Sperry, 11.5 on Alden Trubalance, 11.5 in Converse, 11.5 in Clarks desert boots), and in my opinion, these fit true to size for 11D. I can't fit in them comfortably, and believe me, I tried pretty damn hard. I've been looking for a vintage pair of these in my size for at least three years, and this is the closest I've come.

I'm asking $80 shipped, which includes USPS Priority with insurance and delivery confirmation. Thanks!
