Dior Homme did indeed produce cashmere sweaters in China several seasons ago. To my knowledge, it was only done for the Fall/Winter season and not produced there after that season. I saw them in Saks Fifth Avenue and was slightly shocked (and dismayed) at the time, but I figured Dior was figuring ways to cut production costs on their 'luxury' items. In any case, most of the world's cashmere is purchased in either China or Mongolia. The refining of the yarn for 'Made in Italy' sweaters is completed in Italy, and the sweater/jumper is knitted in Italy in order to merit the 'Made in Italy' label.

yup. Most of the newer cashmere stuff is made in China.
