  1. Great stuff. Either an addition of a rubber layer on a leather sole, or a resole of a leather sole to a lugged unit. On some preowned Alden's. Locating the decent cobbler would guide as to which pair I get and consequently which job I need doing!
  2. Any of us in the North of the UK have any recommendations for good cobblers? The guy I usually use also works on the TV show Repair Shop and has shut up shop indefinitely to focus on similar projects. The work I am after is by no means niche or specialist, though naturally I want clean, precise, high quality work doing so my local Timpsons is out of the question! (unless of course anyone can recommend a secret Timpsons ninja who is actually really good)
  3. @PrettyBoyTony you'll be sound I'm sure! Exciting, such a great pair for your first raw jeans!
  4. I know right! The denim is different though for sure, but cut and construction-wise very similar; Warehouse have their formula for a 1947 cut and it's good, I guess they don't need to deviate!
  5. They are taking on a lovely state of wear I must say, I guess that's why I'm picking up the 54's too! I received these first week of August, worn pretty regularly since (no other jeans, wore chinos on wash days, recently started wearing another WH pair last couple of weeks or so)
  6. 👀 I mean, all kinks are welcome. I don't think any of us minds what everyone else gets up to behind closed doors.
  7. Absolutely my preference for denim jacket fit! Cropped and boxy, sleeve length looks perfect too!
  8. My ideal waist is 41 to 42cm laid flat and I always go for 34, in Warehouse/Denime specifically. I could be an outlier though.
  9. @indigoeagle I did yes! Fit wise, they’re very similar, comfy high rise and top block, then quite a pronounced taper (in Sufu terms anyway). Lovely fit, and road-proven through the DD-1947! I hoped and kind of expected them to be similar, and was right on that one. The DD banner denim I would say is marginally softer, and a bit more characterful, grainy etc. The Denime banner denim is smoother, and like I said has that brown cotton coming through, giving the faded areas a warmer hue. I too am looking forward to seeing how they compare, I went for the same size (34) in the 54’s…which could have been an error given how different the waist measurement is! We shall see. Gone the same route getting a one wash pair from warehouse direct, with their own hem too of course! I will of course share details when they arrive (probably mid-late next week given past experience)
  10. This is exciting! The likelihood of a mid-December start crossed my mind again earlier this week actually (probably while I was contemplating buying some new jeans - which I did, in the end, never mind). Is this still anticipated? Or is it more end of Dec / early Jan now? I am 100% okay with either and ready to go when he is!
  11. I have a couple off the back of my recent OCBD spree (that you kindly imparted some advice on) - I can check some of the lengths of mine - I now have a couple Kamakura and BB to compare...I'll come back to you with some measurements soon!
  12. @PrettyBoyTony - Good question, it's probably: 1. I have fallen on Warehouse as my brand of choice for jeans (keeps things simpler, and I can obsess deeply about one brand rather than many, for now at least!) 2. I like jeans to look worn/lived in quickly - this fabric fades fast (and is lighter than the 220A denim - ideal for me, I found the 220A to be a touch too thick) 3. You can see the brown cotton coming through, giving the faded areas a richer tone than what I have seen in previous pairs with white cotton 4. Beyond that, I don't know honestly, I just like it - I also jumped on the chance to have "collected" the 220XX series I suppose, depending on how the WW2 edition looks when it comes out (could be any time soon) I may grab that too
  13. Haha! Yes, the lightning fade was there from day 1 pretty much, being one washed from Warehouse, they arrived to me with the coin pocket crease already going on. Dad life and a fair few diy jobs have worn the thighs, plus the additional fade on the right knee haha!
  14. 220XX-47's fresh out of the wash - I'll do some more details when they're properly dry tomorrow.
  15. @PrettyBoyTony if this is anything to go by, I like the 220XX-47's so much I cracked and ordered a pair of the 54's from Warehouse yesterday as well (same denim different cut)
  16. Just had a look and they sure do! 👀 Also nice to see some Timeworn stuff listed on their site
  17. Thanks @scooby for the info!!
  18. Definitely keep! Fit looks great. What a thing to have stashed away!! Haha
  19. It’s tricky with Warehouse as they have no publicised production schedule to speak of. Most retailers will tell you when asked “it arrives when it arrives”. That said, they do seem to be re-releasing the dead stock blue series bit by bit. The Denime 220XX 47 or 54 would substitute very well, as to all intents and purposes they are just warehouse jeans really!
  20. @yung_flynn actually neither! There are some remaining pairs with the gents at Signet: https://thesignetstore.com/collections/warehouse/products/cowboy-pants-ww2-model-1002
  21. Those of us who grabbed the WW2 cowboy jeans (WH1002) back when they came out….did you take your regular Warehouse size? I’m looking at you @scooby, @shredwin_206 given the recent passing on of the jeans post between you both! My earlier proclamations about “no more jeans until WOMCON” are teetering on a precarious edge, as I knew they probably would! 🙄
  22. Quite right! If we can collectively find the shop with the Goldilocks hem, they would have a tonne of business from us no?! Answers (and photographic evidence!!) on a postcard please!
