  1. Some more angles of the 220XX-47. I'm really pleased with these, and going to make them my daily for a while.
  2. As mentioned above it depends on the brand, fabric and remaining inseam length. A worked example from me would be I bought Warehouse Duck Digger 1001XX 1947, they come one washed, I had them hemmed to 28 1/2", they have over the course of a year lost another 1". That was with Warehouse's banner denim, I've found that most unsanforised denim will do similar things. Any more clues on brand or fabric might help with some more specific advice!
  3. Works for me - I wouldn't mind even if it was 12 or 18 months. Agreed on weight. Jan 1st also sounds good, again I have no concept but if it's a smaller maker does that give them enough time? I guess they would have to go with a cut they already make, of course.
  4. The more I think about this the more I think it's a really wonderful idea.. Word Of Mouth or Rockets would work but I'm keen on Word Of Mouth purely for the Euro build factor, though I get it if the one man setup couldn't do a 30+ pair run all at once. Unsure what the deal is with Rockets (company size / staff numbers etc) but they look great too. I'm actually in the process of trying to select one or two of my current pairs for a year or so run (an arcuate pair and a plain pocket pair, as daft as that sounds) just to get some real wear out of some of my jeans, but doing something like this would be right up my street right now - I'm really into the idea of real utility of things, and making do with the fewest things, using them purposefully, and seeing things evolve. I realise collecting repro denim and all the accoutrements is almost entirely antithetical to that but like any hobby or obsession it's just a bit odd innit. Like I say I've been repeatedly browsing the contest threads from over the years on here and I have a keen interest in getting involved in one!
  5. I first spotted WOM on the Signet online store actually!
  6. ✋I would be, or the Word of Mouth idea too! I clearly became interested in denim and heritage clothing after what seemed to be a golden age of contests, I flick through the old Denime XX and Warehouse x Signet collab competition threads and the like with a keen interest in taking part if a contest was ever to come about again.
  7. @Signet I like the look of the No 1 classic straight would love to have a look at a size chart!
  8. To be completely fair...there are elements of this that I like - not necessarily the look itself but the commitment to it.
  9. 220XX-47 fit At the very slimmest of the spectrum of fits for me, but comfortable nonetheless. Wearing the FC 0105’s immediately prior to this pair probably emphasised that!
  10. (cross-post from Denime thread) A hint of autumn in the air this morning here, so the boots went back on! Toys McCoy Denime Red Wing
  11. The wear on those chinos, especially down the outer seam, is 👌🏻
  12. +1 for the TCB version, not deep-dived on the measurements but in principle it looks fantastic
  13. @mlwdp, it looks to be projected to turn away? I know next to nothing about typhoons / tornadoes / hurricanes (something I am grateful for, honestly), but it seems like it's going to be a close call!
  14. Warehouse 2002XX (with a nod to @Kit Carruthers for that, cheers!) Toys McCoy Warehouse Asahi
  15. Picked my 1082's back up from the local seamstress yesterday too (along with the WH/Denime delivery this was a real treat day). They're great, really comfortable and sitting in that loose but not wide mid-range. Got a bit more inseam left on for now so wearing with a breezy ankle cuff, over time I'm fairly certain that will go. Anyway, lovely chinos, just what I was after. I can probably now safely turn my Buzz Rickson OG's into shorts!
  16. 220XX-47’s arrived yesterday. First thing I noticed when unpackaging them was how light they feel in comparison to the 220A offset model. The fit plus the weight of those just was not for me, but the same cut/fit with this lighter material is much better. I’ve laid them out with 1000XX DSB and 1001XX banner denim to compare, photos not great but in real life the denim is fairly regular in texture, quite smooth and a really lush dark blue. It's overall really nice looking and feeling. I bought these one-washed from Warehouse and also had them hem them, judging by the original hem these will rope to high heaven. (Ideal as my current obsession with getting the most imperfectly perfect roping on the hem is hitting a peak). Not included a fit pic yet but the fit on me in size 34 I would describe as "smart", i.e. snug but comfortable through the upper half then straight down from the knee. The one-wash process (unsure exactly what process WH use) seems to have been fairly heavy duty so here's hoping these remain as a comfortable "smart" pair. There are some real "Ghost of Hayashi" vibes present. Also noted the immediate presence of the trademark lightning strike on the coin pocket. These are currently in a cool wash, getting that hem nice and puckered (honestly it is an obsession), then I'm kind of spoilt for choice at the moment but once things cool down towards the end of this month I can see myself wearing these a lot. I'm interested to see how the fabric fades in comparison to the 220A fabric (as masterfully displayed by @beautiful_FrEaK!!)
  17. I posted this ^ a while back, I spotted it in Black Ivy (the book). Posting here led me to finding it’s from a whole set of photos from Life magazine, all with a similar level of style of course!
  18. Welcome @PrettyBoyTony! I would say that unless they feel extremely tight and uncomfortable then they should stretch out plenty. If they're not tight anywhere else, e.g. the thigh, then you should be okay. The 0105 is fairly versatile, going up or down 1 or 2 sizes might be okay but going from 31 to 34 is a big jump.
  19. Massive congratulations @Geeman
  20. I missed those in my size! Hence the Denime 47's instead 🙃
  21. @smoothsailor that is brilliant!
