Yikes! Has this always been the case and you guys use another site / proxy service or is this, dare I say it, Big Don T related? @Geeman, @Double 0 Soul, @willi absolutely, all due respect to Clarks, they do a great job and hold great status as an iconic brand, and as @Maynard Friedman said, the made in UK line hold up pretty well. My "crap Clarks" comment was aimed at the prolific made in Vietnam ones you see on the high street here and online. Good to hear the anecdotal evidence on long lasting crepe soles too! I have long assumed that the longevity of it as a sole material is down to its density, I've had a couple of pairs of Clark's that have felt very soft from the start and rubbed flat pretty quickly. Never the miUK type mind!

Also - I wouldn't pay $760 either! On that Speedway link I see them at 76800 yen, which I make out to be ~$500 today, do you guys see a different price on there, from a US IP address??
-
Granted, I have had crepe soles fall apart in the past, though that has been on the cheaper end - I am told there are varying qualities of crepe (perhaps that's a given). I also believe even with stitchdown construction and a crepe sole, replacement is possible.

The upcoming John Lofgren Sahara desert boots have caught my eye. I'm on the verge of a pre-order. https://speedwaysendai.com/collections/john-lofgren-bootmaker/products/pre-order-sahara-boots-khaki-japanese-suede Would have to be in the khaki, of course. I'm just really into the idea of an overengineered, overly dialled in desert boot. Like how far can we possibly elevate something? From modern day mass produced Clarks crap ones, all the way to this!

Word of Mouth - The Crust & Fades Contest

I know, given the rate of fading, and the roping seen here - I can't imagine how they're going to look in 6 months, let alone 18! -

Lovely stuff @MJF9 love a bit of Leeds Leeds Leeds on here! Mystery Ranch packs are great too! I was undecided between Eberlestock and Mystery Ranch a little while back - came down on an Eberlestock in the end but very similar deal. -
No advice @okimoto sorry but just to say that's a very nice jacket!!!

Ahh thank you! I knew it was one of the Swedish contingent, but I couldn't remember who!

Found some more 1003XX clues, here: https://indigoveins.com/warehouse-1003xx/ I believe the creator of this blog is on sufu? Anyway, this pair have some of the details of the one's I've just picked up, though the pair described here have flannel pocket bags and normal buttons, whereas mine have plain pocket bags and donut buttons.

Word of Mouth - The Crust & Fades Contest

Thank you @beautiful_FrEaK! I do really like them! The fit is pretty comfortable. I could always go for more space in the top and a higher rise. But that is always the case. Give me a 13" rise and I'll still need more. I think these will really come into their own by spring/early summer, the fade on them will be getting really significant and they're a good weight for slightly warmer weather. Exciting. -

Thank you for sharing the video! Looking forward to watching it. Regards the craving for a war model I had…successfully bid on a raw pair of S1003XX. Cannot find any details online about them, to the extent that I may contact Warehouse themselves and ask about them. When they arrive (might be a while, it was a proxy bid that won) I’ll share some details. Patch looks to be similar to the standard 1001XX patch (i.e. not the mega soft deerskin found on DSB). All yellow stitching, rivet-less coin pocket, normal unbleached cotton pocket bags, no arcuates, red tab. Beyond that I can’t tell you much. The one clue I did note was that the Warehouse logo on the inner waistband tag was in blue text, which, I think, makes it a few years old at least - I’m fairly certain most newer tags are in red, black or green. I can’t be certain though.

Great info thank you, I’ve bought from Toyo before via proxy but hadn’t factored in the limited run issues! Dare I ask who offers pre-orders on this line?
-
Okay so I caved and set up a stock notification on the S1945 jeans - I'm clearly craving a war model at the moment. Laughing to myself about me being so certain on not buying other jeans this year 😂
-
@indigoeagle this is super useful thank you! I'm very keen on the flannel pocket bags DD-1944 and if luck is on my side there'll be a re-issue, according to the catalogue anyway! I fully agree. While I do like the DSB range, it doesn't come close to Banner!
-
The back and forth about the catalogue the other day got me thinking about the war models Warehouse have released in the past…and I came across a couple of crumb trails online - seems like there was a recent run of DD-1944, I found odd sizes left on Cultizm and they were still listed but out of stock on Union (in Japan)… I’ve also spotted on mercari a couple of raw pairs of S1003XX, without the flannel pocket bags of the DD-1944 version. A quick search on here though for S1003XX returns nothing at all really, apart from the new ish 1942 DSB model. Does anyone have either of the older war models? Either the DD flannel bags one or the other? I assume both are in some variation of the banner denim, but I’m not sure.

Yes I do! I have the 203 in 32 and I take 34 in most Warehouse jeans - they fit similarly in the waist. -
Mate - this is insanely good. Why not. Let's do it. Thank you!
-
I imagine the 42 will be another release of these: https://www.ware-house.co.jp/?pid=165486617 There was also a run of them back in autumn some time, I think!
-
If I understand correctly, I believe all of Warehouse's fabrics are rope dyed, and in fact most repro denim makers no? Ahh okay, thank you for the info. Glad to see it looks like they might re-run the full gamut of DSB, always wanted to grab the 53's, and also the DD 1946's! But, what I was excited about was potentially grabbing a glimpse of the 30th anniversary stuff!
-
This is interesting, as I have the 1001XX-25 and honestly didn't really note much taper at all - the cut is intended to be a more 50's leaning interpretation. Importantly though, mine are hemmed to 27" or so, so the extent of the taper may be reduced! As others have said, their widest cuts recently have been the DSB 1953 & 54's I would say. Unsure about pre-war models etc as I'm less interested in that stuff. Their Greenbaum waist overalls are fairly capacious, I think.
