Helpful thank you, also a good reminder that if it comes and is on the smaller side of where I would want it, a cold wash would work - I always lean towards hot wash and dry but I suppose that doesn't always have to be the case! One thing I did wonder, was, being very new to the denim jacket game (i.e. I have none presently, save from a vintage storm rider, but washing / shrinkage never was an issue there) - which way does the fabric tend to shrink up the most? Is it the vertical length like jeans? I was assuming so, but then would any width shrinkage be more reluctant to stretch back out? (like thighs in jeans e.g.)

Following a cursory trawl through all of Superdenim all I can find on the 2001XX DSB blanket lined is from the how many denim jackets thread with a post from @THUNDERBALL, so…. I wondered if you could advise on how much yours shrank when washed etc? any measurements would be very welcome. I’ve found one online that may be too small with shrinkage but given it’s lined already kinda negates any need for big layers underneath, plus I’m for some reason drawn to blanket lined denim jackets more than unlined, not fully sure why that is.

Cheers dude that's great to see - the top washed pair pretty much look how my ideal jeans look so that bodes well. 👀 are they the Canal loafers too? Look super nice with the jeans! I seem to have landed well with my normal aim of starting with a small cuff and moving to no cuff over the course of 6 months or so!

Ordered a Buzz M43 jacket a little while back and pretty sure was all good

Absolutely are! Like I said it's just nice to not have to go intense on the size chart calculations, and have the leeway to wash and dry as hot as I want or need. Although not the most economically efficient way to buy a pair, getting them direct from FC was a good experience too which was nice.

Received my 0105's today, direct from their online store and with their own hem, looks great. They emailed me after ordering to confirm the inseam length and also to send me specific measurements of the pair they were going to ship - which I really appreciated, it didn't change anything but they did note the waist size to be smaller than that on the size chart (this W32 pair being 82cm waist rather than the advertised 83.5cm). This probably falls in line with others' experiences but I'm always W34 in Warehouse but easily 32 in these, and it's great being able to size for the waist only - so simple! All in all a great process and having looked at the import slip on the package that's also great. Pretty pleased. I'll get round to fit pics at some point - gave them another wash today, did try on prior to that and was instantly happy with the fit and cut - easy to see why it's praised so highly.

This is great @dada mafiosi glad to hear you got a pair and thanks for the post and measurements! I'm currently in the process of washing my 1001X-25th anniversary pair post hemming and they're looking like I've reached the 100% most ideal jean for me, for now.

Very good! 😂 Congratulations @Broark what a wonderful new chapter you're about to enter!!

Yes these look great! Re: cosmetic flaws, firsts have those as well so don't worry! The top down view puts to bed any concerns of mine around them looking too pointy with the machine stitching. Very nice pair of loafers, look to fit you really well, peak menswear indeed!! haha 🙃

@Talan those look great. The Warehouse collector in me is resisting all urges to cop some at present, given I recently indulged in the Buzz Rickson 42’s.

SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)
Alec Leamas replied to minya's topic in superdenim
I would personally have them hemmed shorter, but I feel there might also be a 3rd option (which may be entirely ruled out by your personal preference): 3. Roll the hem up 2 or 3 times, so old scuff mark is not so visible, and shorter length achieved -
On that note - has anyone ever had a hem done by Fullcount themselves?? I generally find Japanese makers / retailers to get them rolled real nice and tight, also getting super consistent roping all the way round... I am hoping that FC's is the same!
-
That's absolutely fair, $250 is not inconsiderable, either way I'm sure you will come out with a great pair of loafers.
-
Does anyone know if Fullcount will hem pairs ordered directly from them? I can't find any info on their website, and have had scant fortune before when emailing them EDIT: nvm, found reference to their "chain stitch hemming service" in the return policy section Looks like it's high time I grabbed a pair of 0105!!

Pretty cool to see a shoe in that style and with that level of usage NOT completely broken up and the sole coming away from the upper! They must be well built!

Why do laces appear to be such a sticking point with some footwear brands? I have also had Yuketen laces snap on me within a month or so of use (raw hide ones, apparently)

I recently picked up a pair of 6423F in snuff suede direct from Alden (as they did the E fitting which was a must for me). I will say I have no experience with the LMS version, but one of my main attractions to the LHS was the van last and the rounded shape of the toe, the raised moc stitching plays a big part in that and gives the toe it's distinctive structure, and I like the effect. I felt, from photos that the LMS toe looked that bit pointier and more slender, which I wasn't keen on. Also, in the UK the only width available on the LMS was D, which given what I have now experienced the E to be like, would have been wayy too slim. I don't mind a leather sole, and so far, the sole on the 6423F has proven itself very comfortable. TLDR; I'm not an Alden purist I just really like the look of the snuff suede LHS (been a grail item since I got into menswear really), and I just see the difference as being an aesthetic one

Sorry, yes it’s a pdf that was attached to an email from Fullcount detailing, by product, the price reduction. eg the 11.5oz 1101’s going from $360 to $300. This will only be direct from them of course, don’t know what ramifications this has for other retailers!

Received this in an email today, with some info around the exchange rate and product prices - looks as though the exchange rate is such that they have had to reduce the European / US prices, with effect from July 1st 上代改定値下げ(海外)決定.pdf

I tried to order a few Buzz Rickson bits from the Toyo store and ultimately failed at the checkout stage as they do not ship internationally -

+ 1 for Clutch Cafe. I've only ever had my hems done by them (5 pairs now) and they've always been great. About to find out about Son of a Stag's hemming next week. This is always via post and turnaround has been ~7 days each time so can't speak to while you wait availability. -
I have never had a raw pair in the banner denim sorry, but Hinoya has said on the product page expect 6-7cm shrinkage in the inseam. I imagine that to be fairly accurate!
