I really like Cushman too! Could someone please provide a link to the new FW catalogue? The duck jackets shared above are lovely!

Glad you got that sorted! Glad to hear also about your good experience with FC customer service, I had a great experience too. And regards comfort straight from the off, I've yet to experience quite the same in any other brand's fabric - I think there's a fairly large consensus here on that! They're a joy to wear!

I also just noticed this when considering buying a pair of the new S40's. I didn't buy them, in the end, though not down to the shipping cost (which is still very very reasonable, for the UK at least - £17 / $22), more that I am aiming for monk-like restraint on jeans buying until my pizza jeans land (and then a further 18 months of no more jeans of course!!!)

@AlientoyWorkmachine I would just add another vote for the Lake District (our favourite weekend away destination - more so outside of typical holiday seasons) and also Yorkshire Dales (my stomping ground) - lovely easier walks a plenty. -
SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)
Alec Leamas replied to minya's topic in superdenim
Thanks guys for spurring me on, I'm feeling a real draw back towards Ivy style as Autumn comes flying in... I went with one Kamakura BD from All Blues (so nice to shop somewhere good, in person) and ventured into the realms of made in USA vintage and deadstock Brooks Brothers on Ebay - quite the can of worms I've opened for myself there! 😬 Picked up a BD Brooks Brothers flannel with a flap pocket (actually looks as though it's the model Kamakura based their new combed twill popovers on!) and currently bidding on a number of (very well priced) old Brooks Brothers MiUSA bits and pieces. -

@malik I was reading along thinking hmm yep sounds familiar, got to be 0105's for this guy, then read you'd tried them, sorry. FWIW I know you've noted At Last there, and the difficulty getting hold of them - but you're very unlikely to have upper leg volume issues with them. Only pair I have where I can go to my actual waist size (32) and have more than enough room for my rear and thighs. DC4 in Berlin have quite a bit of their stock - and you can also go the old mysterious email them direct route. Best of luck finding something that fits properly though! I (and lots of us here) know it isn't always easy!! -
SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)

Thanks all that's all super helpful! @willi I suppose the look I'm going for is kind of pot smoking jazz musician ivy league dropout? Is that a thing? In my minds eye that's what the look is I'm imagining. Great reminder on Jakes too! Jake and Albert make up a great shirt!! @yung_flynn thanks for the detail, I can tell this is an area you've put a lot of time into examining, I'll check those links out and great tip on the vintage Brooks Brothers! @Geeman thank you for the tip also on Gitman and John Simons, I'll have a look at theirs! I would absolutely be looking to tuck the shirts in, and I am leaning closer and closer to the Kamakura's after yours and everyone's comments - probably a popover and just a standard button down These are particularly appealing: -

Has anyone any experience with Far East Manufacturing OCBD's? I'm weighing up whether to grab some Kamakura Vintage Ivy shirts or go with Far East's instead... I see @Geeman and @yung_flynn have discussed the Kamakura's a few times, and All Blues Co in Leeds stocks them so I know the sizing is good for me - I suppose I'm just drawn by the obscurity of the brand and the oversight from Hayashi San with the Far East shirts -

Oops wrong thread! -
Hi @jeash90 sorry for the delay I've been on holiday this week! They are indeed great, I've worn them just about every day since I got them and I am very much enjoying them. So I bought these one-washed direct from Warehouse, so I can't comment on the initial shrinkage - I did note though that when I received them Warehouse's description on first wash shrinkage was accurate. Here's some measurements for you - the first number is the Warehouse measurement minus what they've suggested for shrinkage in each measurement, and the second measurement is the one I've just taken now, having washed them 1 week ago and worn them every day since (so I would guess that they've stretched out in every dimension as much as they're going to - I've mountain biked, hiked, barbecued etc in them this week) [L32 / Size34] Waist (W) - 83cm // 82cm Thigh (T) - 31cm // 32cm Front rise (F) - 30.5cm // 32cm Back rise (B) - 42cm // 42cm Hem width (O) - 21.5cm // 22cm Not bothered with the inseam as I had Warehouse hem them before sending. PS. If buying direct from Warehouse is an option, my experience buying one-washed and their in-house hem was a very good one - I'll share some photos of how they're looking soon, probably after their next wash!

Such a good day! I am not in any way wishing time away as I love the stage I am in with my family (1 and 3 year old) - but to wake up and be able to go out and do all that solo on a Sunday while kids are sleeping is incredibly enticing!

WOMCON. Like it.

I'm doing my best to stick to my Denime 220XX 47's until we receive our pizza jeans, though there are multiple unworn Warehouse pairs beckoning, the 0105's always giving me the eye, potential new TCB's and Shins Denime incoming. What's a man supposed to do?! On that note - do we have a rough idea on when we're going to get this started? Are we doing the winter solstice start??

^ this was my deduction as well!

Alden (feeling a bit like a broken Alden record at the moment) - plain toe bluchers in unlined suede. Doesn't get much better, to my mind. https://www.aldenshop.com/collections/casual-shoes/products/29336f-unlined-suede-plain-toe-blucher-snuff-suede -
I know! How does this keep happening! Damn you incredible makers of nice stuff!!

I'm just trying to triangulate the fit now actually, comparing to my 50's and the old S40's, which they also have on preorder run at present. I recall many comments on here around the exorbitant rise and oddly slender fit, I can see how that would totally nail it for some. I've got the 50's in a 33, but I always yearned for a bit more room - I feel like I would go all the way to 36 in the new late S40's!

https://tcbjeans.myshopify.com/products/pre-order-late-s40s-jeans Flannel pocket wonky stitch wartime goodness now up for pre-order!! 👀

@Broark they're actually really nice thanks for the heads up, could make that toe shape work! If only I actually needed or could afford more boots right now! 🙃
-
@yung_flynn thanks for sharing that seller! It's a gold mine!! Just earmarked a pair of Denime XX that, if they're still there in another couple weeks, I'm bagging!!! (sorry realise that's not thread-related, back to the scheduled programming)

I think it was actually the heft of your Lofgrens that I'm drawn to, I find that "normal" Chelsea boots look too pointy on me - I have wider feet and a pointy/sleek shoe just never ever sits right for me, visually or physically. There was a Red Wing spin on a Chelsea a while ago too, the Chelsea Rancher, which had that similar robust look - "elevated Blundstone", perhaps?

Yes do it! It would be like an all time faded denim greatest hits! -
Some good wooden floor and sunshine vibes going on here lads

Picked up this pair of Alden 9501 (plain toe bluchers in natty chromexcel) second hand for a great price. Good amount of patina going on already and plenty of life left, look and feel like they won't need a resole for some time yet too! The upper wasn't particularly well cared for by previous owner, so doing my best to nourish it while retaining the characteristics of natural cxl. Apologies the best photo of them is upside down! 🙃 try as I might I can't flip it round for some reason!

Confirmed my size, I'm going to be in the 5150, size 35, 72cm washed inseam. Aiming for ~70cm ultimately but I calculated after measuring all my Shinya fabric pairs that I will definitely get that extra ~2cm off with a few wash and dries. Given that we're starting this thing in winter that will probably happen very quickly!
