How many pairs of jeans do you own?

😂I know, thanks @jkbrwn! Though honestly it would be doing me a favour if someone else bought them! haha -

@julian-wolf yes this is what I’ve been looking into actually, it was more a collectors piece this one, having the arcs and tab etc - from what I have seen the older model was significantly more trim than the current iteration @jkbrwn that’s the exact pair I’ve been looking at! You can see on the images there’s nowhere near as much hip flare as on the current cut - in fact it looks rather more like the current 1101 -

Never actually posted in here so thought as I've been around for about a year now I may as well. After having somewhat of a rapidly expanding collection, smashing through a fair few pairs on my bucket list I've pared it back down and am more considered with what I get now... Warehouse 1001XX DD-1947 - 34 Warehouse 1000XX DSB - 34 Warehouse 1001XX-25 - 34 Warehouse S1003XX - 34 Denime 220XX-47 - 34 Denime 220XX-54 - 34 Full Count 0105 - 34 Word Of Mouth 5150 - 35 At Last Co Lot 203 - 32 TCB Cats Drive - 32 (for sale) TCB 50's - 33 (for sale) (nothing against TCB - looking at the sizes here I obviously sized them wrong and therefore rarely wear them!) I'm currently eyeing up a pre-lawsuit pair of raw Full Count 0105's on Vinted (tab, arcs, tags on, the lot!), and of course will very likely pick up more Warehouse soon! -
That would be absolutely right, I believe the current WW2 denim (a variation on DSB, I think?) is a lot rougher and irregular than this. I think this may be the older WW2 denim - from around the 25th anniversary kind of time - I remember 2 pairs came out then - the 1001XX-25 in banner and an S1001XX war model too - with a different fabric....I'm assuming this one to be that WW2 fabric, rather than your newer DSB-related one! That comment on 2nd wash shrinkage also rings true for DSB type fabric, I get much less prolonged shrinkage on anything I have that's made from DSB.

Little measurement update on the S1003XX: Waist: 16 1/2" Thigh: 12 3/4" FR: 13" BR 16 1/2" IS: 32" Wondering whether it is indeed Banner denim as these shrinkage numbers don't look like your regular Banner denim stats. It's also remained very hefty after the first wash. Wondering whether it's a slightly heavier "WW2" denim I know we've mentioned on here a few times. Anyway - they're heading to SOAS for a hem and then will wash again and get some wear in.

@beautiful_FrEaK thank you! @Topnotcher I would definitely say it feels a touch lighter than 220A, I really love the fabric.

Freewheelers, Bootleggers Reunion, Bubo, etc.

There's been some serious heat tempting me to buy some Freewheelers kit of late. I don't have any black jeans, yet..... -
@Cold Summer that is a nice pair of desert boots you're right!! That far back in sufu is somewhere I've only very rarely ventured - what a seemingly odd time - I wonder what people will think looking back at us now in 15 years time!
-
Love a daybreak. Been hunting for a fresh pair in the vegas gold uni orange whatever it was colourway for ages, mine are on their way out!
-
Couple shots of the raw fit. If this is banner, I know I'm in for hecka shrinkage, but I really like the rise, I hope it stays as lengthy as it was raw. Waist will be fine, the thighs will need a bit of caution as always. @Maynard Friedman the red tab held up pretty well. They're now in the wash!
-
Absolutely! Had mixed results on other pairs with that, some are frayed to high heaven and others legible and pretty much unscathed! Will be doing it prior to the first wash I should think
-
My S1003XX arrived today, so here are some raw images and measurements... You'll see all the details below. I'm relatively certain it's banner denim, but I can't be sure - I've only seen Banner raw once. I feel I've struck it lucky here anyway! I'll be washing them at some point soon then working out how long I want them - I'm going to go for some cuff this time out, I reckon. Not too much though. I've spammed a tonne of images in the hope that someone may have some idea on date or fabric type. Not bothered with an inseam measurement, but it stands at about 34 1/2" at present.

Thanks @NilsLW that's helpful!!

No, but I definitely would have, had I not just bagged an older banner war model from Warehouse! Looking forward to seeing some more info on them / them being worn - can't get a grasp of how full the cut is from the flat photos I've seen. I had a look at a few size charts and was reckoning I would have gone my usual WH size if I'd grabbed some.
-
The 54's are great!! I never did share any photos prior to packing them away before WOMCON, but I wholeheartedly recommend you both get some.
-
@SLAYER how are those bleached TCB 50's doing? I'm considering doing something similar to one of my pairs and I just wanted to check on lessons you'd learnt, what to watch out for, if anything has ultimately fallen apart or whatever? I see on your images the paper patch seemed pretty unphased - I would probably imagine a leather patch takes more of a hit in a bleach soaking right?!
-
@jkbrwn the 1101's from WAYWT and further up here are looking great. Size wise - did you just go with the same size as your 0105's? (I think you have some of those too right?)
-
Though, maybe no more bonkers than wanting to spend £150-£200 on a pair of jeans, which I have justified to myself many times over.
-
Haha! You may in fact be right!
-
Can't contest the logic. Perhaps just my perception, and in reality more down to the physical thickness of the sole unit as opposed to it's density!
-
Yeah this is a good point, I didn't check those numbers, I guess there must be a hefty import fee added.

Word of Mouth - The Crust & Fades Contest
Alec Leamas replied to beautiful_FrEaK's topic in superdenim
Mutual commiserations buddy - we had a great run prior to Christmas but we've been absolutely slammed since. Pattern usually goes: one of our girls gets ill, then the other, then my wife and then me. Been following that macabre routine for a good 6 weeks now.
