APC black overdye

had a question regarding the black overdyes, and don't think it was covered in the other APC thread...

recently ordered a pair and once i received them, i noticed that they're super soft. I was wondering if these have been prewashed and thus pre-shrunk (so to speak). I'd like to know so that i take off the right amount when i hem them.

they're under the New Standard category...

quite nice i must say...although, i ordered according to my fit in the unwashed/raw versions, and these seem to be a bit more snug...i'm wondering if they might have shrunk a bit in their "pre-wash" stage...

What size did you get? I want to get a pair and 31" in the raw rescues fit me perfectly.

the black overdye is a washed jean, hence the shrinkage and the soft texture. and yes all this was discussed to full length in the mega thread.

they fit more snug initially, but rest assured they will stretch like hell (to the same size as your dry ones).

What is the texture on these like, is it basically a very black denim or is it more of a canvas/gabardine type fabric?

as Ted Dibiase once said, they feel similar to a twill trouser...very soft....

they actually feel pretty close to the nom de guerre black denim from last season, if that helps.

the texture and look is a very soft washed denim. its the exact same jean as their regular new standard, just bleached white then dyed black (garment dyed). even the red line selvedge is still intact. they do fade eventually, but more of a really nice subtle blue tint to the black.

some areas on my back pocket are starting to fray from wear abd abraision and i was surprised to see some white threads popped out. i think these might fade with contrast over time.
