Fading an overdye

I just bought some japanese levis, the kinds that usually have the really fake yellowish overdye in the hige are,(at least i think its an overdye). Anyways does anyone know if these fake hige marks will dissappear over time or is there a way to remove them by washing, or any special techniques? thanks
