What is the difference between these Flat Heads and, say, the 3001? Lighter, heavier...?

The series the S5001 is apart of (The Future series, I think?) is 14oz denim, whereas the denim used in the 3001 (Pioneer series? Correct me if I'm wrong) uses 14.5oz
