M65 sizing...

I'm about to order an Alpha Industries M65, and I just wanted to make sure I get the right size.

I'm 6'1" 160 lbs. Pretty slim.

I was thinking of going with a Medium.

Will that be too big?

Maybe even go with a small if the arm length is enough for you. I'm about your size (6'1, 145lbs), and medium flight jackets have always been kind of over-sized on me, small definitely give a better body-fit.

I am 6' even and 165 lbs. and own a couple Alpha M-65s. I would absolutely get a Small, the arms will not be too short unless you have freakishly long arms......I wear a large in t-shirts and other jackets, etc., and almost wish that I got the X-small Alpha (they fit HUUUUGE), but they are hard to find. I might be able to snap pics when I get home, but since we have the same frame, I am positive that you will not be dissapointed with a small.......

My arms are kind of short for my height, so I guess a small would be the best bet.

Also, would you reccomend getting the detachable liner? Is that any good, or would I be better off just layering up with some sweatshirts?

Eh, the detachable liner might be a good idea I guess, depends how much it is though, also how well it clips in, etc. I don't know though cause I don't own a liner; I live in L.A. so there is never much use for a jacket in the first place...........definitely not a warm jacket on its own though, so if it is a good price get the liner, it will probably look nicer than trying to match some random sweater..........

Yeah I opted to buy the liner cause it was only $19.

I got the Alpha M65 for $65.

I think that's a pretty good deal.

I got a black m65 jacket from a local military surplus store for $50. I got a large and i'm 6'1" 185. I like to wear my stuff big, though. a Medium would do you, possibly a small if you don't like extra fabric.
