one of my friends went to the gas station to buy brews. when he went up to pay, he used his fake. at the same moment the clerk was looking his at his ID, and police officer walked in to pay for something. the clerks then obviously consulted the cop about the ID and he determined it was fake. my friend got a summons on the spot. worst luck ever lol

this shit almost happened to me the other night, save for the fact I don't have an ID. luckily it was a bagel shop/rest stop, so I had already ordered a bagel and wasn't put on the spot. Apparently cops don't care that much, and neither do the store owners, but I didn't wanna pull a Superbad on the spot.

Many many years ago I got busted with a fake Florida ID in a casino on Fremont Street (I think it was Binions) in Vegas. They didn't call the cops or anything, but the casino security took my personal info (I didn't give them anything real) and kicked me and my friends out, and threatened to call the cops if they saw me in there again. Luckily I had more than one copy if the ID, so I went and got another one and moved alongto the next casino without a problem. This was before they cleaned up Fremont and turned Vegas into a family destination, I doubt they would be so lenient nowadays.

So long (ridiculous) story cut short, got caught with my fake and was stuck with "unlawful use of a license" and was wondering if anybody else has ever had to deal with this? From what Ive read easiest I'd get off is $250 and 30hrs comm service. Now I wasn't caught trying to buy anything, the cop just happen to see two ids in my card holder so I'm hoping for a slap on the wrist. I was thinking about about pleading guilty and giving the fulltime student and work sob story but I know you guys have to have some fake ID stories...lets hear them.

Its not an "unlawful use of a license" if you didn't use it. Get a lawyer!

I wouldn't expect community service, but you'll likely get fined if you get summoned. Some cops just take IDs and let people off, but if you get a ticket, you get fined I think.

Once I got asked for a second form at a bar w/ my ID that was obv not me. I had a debit card, so it worked fine, but as soon as I turned around when they let me in, two cops were there. They (luckily) weren't paying attention that I got second formed. Lucky me.

It isn't easy to fake NJ IDs anymore. they're good now and not laminated. I worked as a bouncer in college, and I'd say that Virginia ones are decent. If the seller says it has a hologram on it and it says "Guaranteed Certified Authentic" in little circles, ask for your money back. They're really easy to spot.

a buddy of mine was in arizona a few months back for a paintball tournament and he tried to get into a bar with a fake and the bouncer took it, and my friend, being the idiot that he is, decided to give the bouncer shit for it.

well, the bouncer didn't take too kindly to this so he grabbed my friend by the arm and walked him over to a couple cops on horseback that just so happened to be chillin there.

my friend ended up having to fly back out to arizona for some court appearance or something (we live in ny) and it ended up costing him like $700 or so when it was all over and done with.

when i was a junior in college i got busted for having a fake and as it turned out, the dude working at the store had already called the cops because they had a bunch of kids try and come in with fakes and they wanted to give 'em to said cops .. well i saw the cops pulling in the parking lot so i got the fuck outta dodge. they asked me if "i was the person with the fake ID (?)" and of course i answered no and ran home.

does he just have to go to the DPS, say he lost it and register for a new one? or is his old one void or something

if the district attorney doesnt give it to you, get the case adjourned until you get it. the last thing you want is for some stupid shit like this to get on ur records.

search the dmv website for a duplicate id option, its 15 bucks in ny and its all done online and they ship it your house.

That was way back when. A few years ago they did away with the laminated card. Now the have this fucking plastic card with holograms, two pictures, two signatures and various other shit. It's so bad now. When I went and switch over to it, they punched a hole in my old classic license, so it wasn't good.
