Washington DC this weekend

Considering to go to Washington DC this weekend because of labour day.. gonna be traveling by myself.

Living in Jersey right now.

Good idea? Lots to see?.. I've never been to the capital in any case.

Cheap hostels?

If a lot of you guys say bad idea, maybe Phillie.

Certainly lots to see if you've never been here and you like... stuff. Tons of free museums--great art at the Nat'l Gallery, Hirshorn, Freer and Sackler, Nat'l Portrait Gallery, Corcoran (not free). Solid zoo, assuming you like cute or ferocious things. Nats are in town playing the Braves, although they suuuuck--stadium is nice. The Official Birthday Party for the Godfather of Go Go CHUCK BROWN at the 9:30 club (not clear if he's playing, really).

Personally, I wouldn't brave I-95 on Labor day weekend to see DC, but I live here, so...
