Messenger Bags

Looking for a leather messenger bag for under $350 if it exists. I've been looking at these two places so far:

Any experience with either? Or just post up messenger bags in general, not necessarily leather. Just looking for something simple/rugged looking that'll hold a few books/binders. Black canvas would work too I suppose.

while e-cat is badass, it doesn't really look at all like what HBlack posted (although, I wouldn't even call what he posted a messenger bag, really)

True. I basically meant something classically styled that's approximately that size and can be worn over the shoulder.

I'm open to other styles (doesn't need to look like that at all really), but the visvim one isn't it. Basically, this sort of thing is what I'm not looking for:

I really like the look of the construction of this one:

But I'm not sure I can deal with a vertical bag.

Filson has a couple bags you might be interested in. They are made out of canvas with leather straps.
