Deadstock 1966 Big E Levi's 646, Odd details

I recently found a pair of deadstock Levi's 646 from a thrift store in Malaysia selling used red wing boots and random americana. Was still dead stiff like sheet metal. A odd detail I noticed was its red tab and patch. They would normally be orange tab with no patch. The year 1966 was when the 646 was allegedly first introduced. Could be a very early model of its kind. The accompanying cards date it back to 1966. Enjoy the pics.

those are certainly interesting.

i've never seen 646's with those features. you might holler at Lynn Downey for some insight.
