I'm curious about the whole grant thing...I've heard many great things about the different types of grants there are available...and one of the biggest draws is the fact that it's not a loan, where you get raped ten times into debt with interest. Can somebody speak from personal experience in obtaining grants...and how they went about it with the request letter and such? Enlighten, enlighten.

This would be to help fund the creation of a multi-faceted art and music project...it could actually help some people in the world (doesn't the positive/charity-like spin give you a bit more leverage/higher success rate?).

Any good reading...I'm sure there is. I feel bad cause everytime I think about it, I'm always away from a computer to hunker down and start researching.

I second this. I've been doing some research about funding short films and so far haven't found much. Tons of finishing grants not too many for start-ups.

Grant money is pretty much the only reason I might wind up going back to grad school.
