spotting fake 7's

If you know the seven line-up enough to be able to name the washes, and know where the tags and stickers are and what they say you'll be fine. Pay special attention to the thread colour, as thats usually the first thing that looks off. Also the fakes are almost always made of older and more simple non-stretch finishes.

If you happen to be browsing for your girlfriend on ebay, DO NOT buy any dark chicago A-pocket 7's unless you are absolutely sure, as they tend to be the most knocked off.
