Levis 501

Levis for their fall/winter 08 line are changing the fit of the 501 and re-introducing some more selvage cuts and washes. Supposidly it's going to be the slimmest the 501 has ever been. They've also been bringing back real leather patches, and nicer washes. Although this was breifly posted in the news, thought i might as well give a little more detail.

There's going to be 3 washes in selvage, a washed selvage, with natural fading paterns from 501's, a dry selvage indigo, which is already available but in the older fit, and either a green cast or something i can not remember off the top of my head, which are all going for 120.

What's the thought on levis? they're really changing, and finally getting the vintage looks and washes. They're even going to launch some premium orange tab for those who want LVC but not the hefty pricetag. Even in their Premium capital E line they're stepping up with better washes and japanese denim in certain fits.

Much to look forward to...

I was at the Levi's Store today and I saw a raw 501 that was kinda copperish. It was STF and had hidden rivets and a leather patch, but no selvage or chainstitching. It was only $98 and said it was a 1947 fit. I was pretty intruged, but I didn't try them on. The inseams were all too short for me, nothing over 34.

unfortunately levis hasn't fixed their sizing i guess, but that sounds like something they'd do. I wouldn't know for sure because the information i've gotten is from canada, so we don't get the full extent of the north american line, mostly from the USA, which has more volume, sounds like an interesting find
