from the 50th issue of Fader, an article on the birth (and death) of turn-of-the-century "new york rock". it's scary to think that seemingly inescapable scene was in full force over 6 years ago. it's a pretty good read. if you were around nyc during that time, it's a nice trip down memory lane. scary to think that piano's lasted longer than some of those bands!
