Warm winter shoes for girls?

Hey...one of my girlfriends is trying to find something to wear that will keep her feet warm for a brutal Canadian winter but also looks good and hopefully can be worn with slim/skinny jeans. Neither her nor I can think of anything that fits the bill.

Any recommendations? Or are girls just doomed to cold feet for the winter if they want to look good?
