Embroidery Removal?

Is it possible to remove embroidery from a knit fabric like wool? I just bought a cardigan but it has really awful embroidery on the chest, I'd like to remove it but I don't want to damage the fabric at all.

It looks like it's in there pretty good, and sealed at the back. Can I take it to a tailor? Is there a solvent for the glue they used that won't damage the colour? Am I gay?
