Waiters at the West 23rd Street eatery have been given unwashed, rigid jeans to wear for the next three to six months, as part of a wash development.....The jeans then go to the company’s laundry center in Kentucky where they’re replicated and officially christened the “Bette Jean" ....“We’re anticipating grease and oil and ketchup stains,†Ylvisaker said. “But we’re looking most forward to them.â€

Presumably the waiters will be able to wash them frequently? Otherwise it would be like having unwashed table linen in a restaurant....how about calling them the "unhyjeanic"? (sic).

how about the smell? either they wash them or use a special product to kill the smell.

stick 'em jeans in the dishwasher! this will create a whole new trend called the "dishwashing wash", exclusively from ernest sewn. middle class dudes will be buying $200+ jeans to look like waiters. hilarious!
