Open Mics Long Island

This might be a long shot, but does any one know of any good open mics on Long Island? My band is looking for places to get practice and develop our sound before heading into the boroughs and NYC. Any help would be appreciated.

suggestion: unless you play emo-mall-punk, don't play in long island. it's a terrible place filled with terrible people.

the talk house in south hampton. i saw ben gibbard do an open mic there two years ago, just walked in and played. cool stuff, too bad death cab are shit.

oh yeah i saw peter gabriel do an acoustic set there too... but it was a legit show.
