what does cut and sewn mean ?

i see this term in a few magazines but im not sure what it means,

It means the garment is constructed by cutting out pattern pieces from the fabric (be it woven or knitted) and then sewn together.

As opposed to 'fully fashioned' whereby the pattern pieces are already shaped during the manufacturing process of the fabric (usually knitted fabric) and then sewn together.

the way i understand it, it also means that a cut and sew collection is more sophisticated in comparison to a simple printed t-shirt collection. cut and sew is about something different in cut as the name says. Or not? Maybe I get it wrong.

i always interpreted it as pieces that are created from scratch vs a t-shirt with a printed design and rebadged collar label.
