What's the best material do make book covers?

Is it elephant leather? Ostrich leather? some artificial material?

i've always been partial to cloth covers. don't know what book you're planning to publish, but it's the substance inside that counts. as long as you can shield the paper from daily usage damages, it doesn't really matter.

also depends on the size of the run. i preffer hard covers; unless the leather were to cover something a lil ridged. but thats just MHO
