Earnest Sewn Selvage- Sanforized?

I just bought a pair of the Earnest Sewn rigid selvage jeans- how can I tell if they are sanforized or not? The people at the store here in new york don't know- I'd like to know how much they'll shrink when washed the first time.

if they have a sort of iradecent sheen on them they probably are sanforized.

i'm guessing they are sanforized to because if they weren't i'd think they would make a big mess of a deal on a tag or something like that like they do on levi's shrinktofits

i could've sworn the eanest sewn selvage's were dry.... shouldn't that mean they weren't sanforized? ah, what do i know...

Dry denim can be - and generally is these days - sanforized. I'm not clear on the details of sanforization, but as far as I know it involves treating the material using ammonia and some kind of mechanical process to swell and set the fibers.

If they arent Levi's repros or Japanese Levi's lookalikes, chances are they're sanforized. In fact, I've never seen a non-sanforized dry jean that wasn't a repro of old jeans - and those that aren't sanforized (for example, Studio D'Artisan) will shrink to their tagged size.
