First timer needs help with pockets sewing

Hey I am a first timer just sewing my first pair of jeans. I got the back legs and yokes put together last night no problem and started working on the front pockets and got hung up. I have read through Ande Whall's stuff but am still having a tough time.

Anyone know of a tutorial for the front pockets? or a pictorial would even be great.

As for a pattern I took a pair of jeans I have and cut them apart. and although I cut the pockets apart I am still confused.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
