What bands are cool now?

Stumbled on a duo called AWESOME SNAKES who I've been digging lately. They have a do-it-yourself attitude along the lines of EAGLES OF DEATH METAL but with a catchy punk edge rather than EoD's early 70s guitar-rock sound.

Saying if you like one you will like the other though, is NOT a stretch. Both are a ton of fun.

i remember a couple years ago when the cold war kids whored them selves out to the blogs in order to get their name out. now they are on the radio. im glad to hear them on the radio because its pretty rare the radio has anything worth listening to.

Like everyone said before, The National is getting a lot of attention. So is Architecture in Helsinki with Place Like This. Spoon with Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga. Jose Gonzalez because of his cover of Heartbeats in the Sony Bravia ad, and consequently, The Knife who had the original. The Go! Team, though they are a little old. Peter Bjorn and John with motherfucking Young Folks.

Yeh, saw Interpol at Leeds Festival just over a week ago. Not the greatest live band but still alright as far as the music goes i reckon. The Chilli's we're kinda disappointin as headliners to be fair.

But the best bands there were The Hold Steady, Datarock and Gogol Bordello without a doubt. Great music and great performers, they all really get involved with the crowd.
