Paper Denim & Cloth

I have a pair of 2-ICN-03, 3 year wash. They're made from a thin denim, heavily distressed and loose, boot cut. The cut and quality is very nice, and because of the thin denim, very suitable for summer time. I'm sure they won't last as long as the Levi's or other good selvage jeans, but nice nevertheless. In retail shops, they're from $150-$200 depending on the wash. Fakes as well as genuine articles are available on eBay, just look at the seller's reputation before you buy.

I have 5 pairs of Paper Denims. I have been very happy with the washes and cuts (most are wider legged boot cuts, but they do have slimmer cuts). They're actually the best fitting jeans I've ever owned (for my style). I have plain dark washes and also the 3 year wash like darknworm has. The denim around 10 oz I believe, depending on the style. They cost me about $150-175. As far as 'designer' denim goes, I think it's great. Go to paperdenim.com for info, but there are many online retailers.

I have never liked those jeans. They look cheap to me and don't justify the high price. I think their washes look overly fake to me as well. My girlfriend has a pair and I give he a look of disgust everytime she puts them on... LOL.If you are going to buy distressed jeans, you might want to try Helmut Lang instead. On ebay you can get them for around the same price. They have a high fashony without looking like you are a trend chaser.

I'd agree that Paper Denims don't have the durability as some 15 oz selvedge, but you can't really call them 'low quality'. That's like saying a Mercedes is low quality because it spends half it's life in the shop. I know we could argue for days like all the other denim threads, but in the end it's just different strokes for different folks icon_smile.gif

Variety is the spice of life they say. I particularly like my ICN 3 yr wash because it's a full boot cut and light weight. Good for the summer time as it allows my twig and berries some space to breath. Granted, I wish it was selvage...but the other qualities made up for this short fall. I do admit that the denim is a bit thin, looks like another year of washing and I'll have some rips. They used to be damn expensive (close to $200) about 2 yrs back, but now ebay is flooded with authentic ones for less than 100 bucks.
