Hunter Mountain, NY

Anyone ever been? I'm not looking for good skiing, i know the snow and mountain will suck, but i'm just lookin to go for a quick weekend with some friends and I heard it's got a decent bar scene.

Haha I'm going there tomorrow. Not a bad mountain considering its proximity to the city. Its about a 2 hour drive, so unless you want to drive another 2 hours to Vermont, its not so bad. And the bar scene is pretty good as well (RIP Slopes). The terrain park on the other hand... well, that's another story.

I'd much rather hit up anywhere in the poconos over Hunter, its just a tad too far and plus no night skiing??

Night skiing is for the birds, you should be in the bar by then.

i know the skiing sucks, everything east of colorado sucks imo... i'm wondering more about the nightlife. hotels also, any suggestions on a hotel walking distance to the bars and not that far from the slopes?

I'm not really a local so I don't know too much, but you might have better luck posting on the Hunter Mtn forum. Dudes on there are way more knowledgable.
