Any one know anything about old G-Star?

I thrifted a pair about 2 months ago for $4.00, black label, nice heavy denim, slubby and redline selvedge. The button fly is doughnut buttons and rivets everywhere. Rather slim fitting. The only tag in them (besides the back tag that doesnt really say shit), is one that says U.S. First, and then a 0001.01.01, after that the sizes, on the back there are washing instructions. It doesnt say where they are made. Any one know anything about these? How old are these? Id take a pic but my camera got stolen on Christmas night...

Are these decent?
