Earnest Sewn Jakimos

the other day I got my hands on a pair of earnest sewn "jakimos". I've never owned a pair of earnest sewn, most of my jeans are lucky brand (durr () ) These babies seemed to fit pretty well, if not a bit snug, but i figured theyd stretch a bit. Right now I'm having them hemmed to my length, keeping the original seams of course, for 19 bucks... well worth it i hope. They're a black wash and they have light distressing, some tasteful pseudo-rips in cool places. And generally look badass. I've been googling for a picture of these things, but can't find em.

Are earnest sewns generally pretty good jeans, i really am pretty new to the denim world.

Has anybody owned a pair of "jakimos" ?

I'll take some pics when I get them back. I hope the hem is alright. Sidequestion: are distressed jeans "out" now? or are tastefully distressed jeans still cool. I've never really liked the heavily distressed style, but slightly so is cool.
