altering waist on trouser style denim

I posted my pics earlier of my Crate Unis. I love the cut of these jeans but dammit the only size available was 36... do you think altering these would be worth it (I bought them for like 50 bucks cheap!). Would it face the same troubles as other denim because these are a unique cut: low-rise trouser style.

Hell, now that I see these... I think I'm gonna have to thin-out the legs also.

Oh and one more thing: these are dry denim. Does anyone have experience with shrinking Crate dry UNI denim?

would be a bit hard, because of the pockets you cant take the sides in straight.

depending on how much too big they are I'd try shrinking them. warm wash and tumble dry.
