what exactly is a "yoke back"?

sorry i tried looking this up on the internet but no good explanation. When a pair of pants are referred to as having a "yoke back" what is it exactly? Any pics would help too. Thanks.

Are you sure they are not just referring to the part of the back of the jeans called the yoke (the V)?

A yoke is used to fit a garment (jeans, shirts, pants, skirt, etc.) without having to use darts. The portion of the garment that needs to fit over something (your hips in the case of bottoms) get set into the yoke.

If you want a visual example of a yoke look at most dress shirts (top back portion) or jeans (back top portion under belt loop)
