Spain - Costa Daurada or Costa Brava

I'm off to Spain for te first time in my life specifically Costa Daurada or Costa Brava. I'm aving th hardes time finding a decent hotel - either they are really crummy or very expensive. I'm 30 ears old and my ife and I want to stay somewhere decent preferably beside the beach. Any sugestions?

First, I would search the Lonelyplanet and Virtualtourist sites.......somewhere that specific may be hard to get info. on from here......
