Actually, the HL classic fit is a medium rise jean, moderately slim jean with a slight taper. The classic bootcut is a true straightleg jean (i.e. the leg opening and the knee have the same measurement, about 8.2 inches in a 32/32. The low rise bootcut has just a bit of a lower rise, and as England said, the contour cut is a more fitted jean (originally designed for women, and adapted for men.) For the longest time, only the classic and bootcut (classic, not low rise) jeans were the only models available for men.
