Do you smell like sweet apples at the end of the day, b_F?”Sorry, but I just find this hilarious

One reason I tried to stay away from full repro cuts when I was younger was that, I always get the diaper ass ... due to my Asian body structure, I guess. So, initially, I was a bit hesitant to come onboard, but glad that I did.
‘Surprised that on these particular pair, I did not have [that] issue. Don’t know if it was intentionally by design, but IMO the svelte-ier top block ratio x high rise trimmed off a bit of the loose [diaper ass] fabric material.

Thanks Ooms!
Had that thought in my head, but U put it into words so illustratively that finally I’m able to express....0 -

i actually like just lightly soaking my jeans at first and then have the combs overlap as they set at different spots the more i wash them. i like the blurriness. crispy combs look a bit terrifying to me.
Exactly! That has always been my path on most of my denim.Conversely, it’s a more common practice to try to get the shrinkage out of the way ASAP to stabilize the fabric before setting the creases ... but, in reality, the denim moves & twist as it’s worn & washed.
So, initially, I just hot soak X2 to get some shrinkage, most especially on the length, before breaking them in. Then, hold off washing for as long as I can & just do periodic soaks to unclog the yarn of dirt & grime.
In effect, the combs permanently record, like in lapse photography, a snapshot of the movement of the denim as the legs slowly twist ... more of a shadow combs, as opposed to the “terrifying” crisp 3D combs
Thanks for sharing!

Most of my belts don't fit very well with those pants, the center belt loops being so close to each other...
Same remedy as @bartlebyyphonics & @julian-wolf .... but, if u want to pair w/a wider belt, Garrison buckle

@Tiro Prolly pre-orders ... last time I looked, item wasn’t there yet.
As for sizing, that remains to be seen. They’ll prolly do an actual pre versus post wash measurements per size & update the size chart.0 -
@RunMountainDrew @Tiro Denimio’s most likely a new production denim lot ...
@Chris T Fab fit! @1st look, ‘thought it’s a bearded De Niro in a contest pair
@corporalclegg As part of prep, before taking pair of raws on the road, I do preventative reinforcement &/or manually serging on the usual weak points ... purpose is to break them in, not apart.
‘Love my pocketbag combo, but was hoping the chambray was of IH 10oz weight ... I think it’ll be the 1st to disintegrate

Post-lockdown lifestyle modification has resulted in a purge on the boots collection. Nowadays, slip ons are a way to go for me, since bending over to tie boots had become such a big production

@unders - Yikes! To put in context, I do mean secure the selvedge seam if you have hacked your hem off yourself and not then sewn it all back up... mine were starting to peel apart after I separated the masters hem from the body... just a couple of stitches for now to stop them peeling apart in the wash...
Denim fringe & pocket flashing, as contest trend .
Was planning on a no cuffs to slight break, so I requested for 34” hem (rigid). Expecting a 3” shrinkage on the length for a 31” finish, but so far I’ve only got 2” off.
Garment glue applied on the edge, if hand stitching is not an option. U can wash & wear until u’ve decided where to hem. Just snip the glued edge when ready.

@FurnitureMaker One full inch past raw. At the end of the warm/hot soak, briskly agitate the waistband to forcibly remove some starch & loosen up the fabric before hang drying.
Ina couple of days wear, repeat.

Yup! That waistband ...
Rigid W36: @1st hotsoak was 34.5” stretched out to 37” in just 1.5 days of wear, belt off.I mean, I’m not proud that my paunch ballooned up from a 34.5”, pre-covid, but I’m happy for folks who are in dire need of a comfort stretch ....
