Oh, this is the one that shows how to chainstitch hem, manually, using a basic sewing machine.

@unders Thanks ... I almost pulled the trigger on their chore coat a few months back, but chickened out

12.5” on a dry W36?! These shrink from tagged, Tilmann?

With a heavy heart, these will have to go cuz they don’t fit me anymore. They’ve been hotsoaked, but sat in my collection unworn. Only had time to take photos of parts that usually show wear ... but, willing to take more photos, if interested.
Measurements: Flat, waist aligned, BiG-Style
WH-1001XX W34L34: Memphis cotton, had them 6yrs+, been tried on a few times through the years, but never actually worn.
$0LD !!!
SC Okinawa W34L34: 50/50 LHT, hot soaked, denim still crisp, original hem.
$220 shipped CONUS
w= 17.25”, ins= 33.5, f/r= 11.75, b/r= 16, u/t= 13, knee= 9.75, hem= 9.25
Fullcount 1008EX W34: Originally from @beautiful_FrEaK ... hot soaked when I got them, but never got to wear them.
$200 shipped CONUS

Brown-Duck & Digger Lot 1960 (Ivy Fit): 13.5oz Grand Indigo dyed, orange line selvage, oxidized copper rivets, one-piece construction selvage buttonfly.
Pre-covid, the fit was somewhat off for me @W36, so I chucked them in the closet right after a double hot soak. Fast forward 1yr later, they seem to fit better w/some weight gain, so they’re out for S/S. Should be a loungy summer jeans wear, like the DenimBridge ... fitpix to follow.

@Bobbo Thanks! I’m really stoked to get ’em on the road already. I’ve seen some fab evos from their denims @IG. These are my 2nd Kuniyoshi collab. Both, BR05 & the SDA Champloo will be on this year’s S/S rotation.
As I’ve mentioned at IG, a big chunk of my precious W33-34 well-worn pairs were awfully decimated by burgeoning weight due to the long lockdown. The deep rotation will allow me time to, maybe, whittle down closer to pre-covid waistline

Nvm ... was looking at old post ... must be gone by now.

@beautiful_FrEaK Is it 12oz ... felt more substantial on hand, post soak ... ***weight edited.
Thanks for the correction, Tilmann. Btw, what leather is the patch? Haven’t “unveiled” mine yet

As per daylight-saving period, spring has sprung. Time to liberate these from their plastic exile. A photo op before their 1st swim, then off to BiG for a hem job.
BR05 DB19: Collaborative project by Shingo-san of Denim Bridge X Kuniyoshi-san of Double Volante.
Approx 12oz, medium rise, regular straight ... 1” taper from knee to hem.
@Josh’N’Roll Thanks!

The cap should be low-hanging ... I’m aiming for the bag, just cuz I seldom wear headgear

Dayton “Milkman” Drivers : 8yrs+, original soles, re-heeled twice.
Had a few compliments through the years cuz of their unique look. Inspired by @persco_’s acquisition, thought I’d take a few snaps.

@BrownMetallic how close to SE's chart were the measurements?
Pretty close. The waist measurement for W36 post wash was 35”, but stretched out to 36” quite easily. The fit/cut is fab ... like a comfy slim, IMO.
Here’s the other measurement comparison for actual vs SEchart :
f/r= 12.5 : 12
b/r= 17 : 16.5
u/t= 13.5, 13.25 @1” below crotch : 13
knee= 9.25 : 9
opening @32” hem= 8.25 : 8
edit: Btw, I could’ve gone tts @W34 if it wasn’t for the flourishing paunch ... so, I’d say a TTS for a slimmer fit.

@srudy Thanks kindly. I’m really having trouble deciding what to do with them at some point. Three of the four panels of the crotch already have an extra layer of backing, and the holes on either side of the seat—just hinted at in those photos—have opened up pretty significantly. They’re sorta at the point where it feels like they need a new repair every week I wear them, so they’ve mostly been sitting on the shelf…really a shame, given how great they’re starting to look. These are one of my favourite pairs of jeans I’ve worn.
Dunno how u feel about Sashiko patchwork but, if they still fit, they’re worth saving.
My worn-in pairs are the jewels in my collection. Pre-covid, most still fit ... unfortunately, now they’re collateral damage of the lockdowns . . . My “new normal” won’t be a W34

Wait!? The no 1s shrank 6 inches!?
4 hours ago, CrashTestBrummie said:No.1 denim has the nicer hand to it, I love its hairiness when soaked and washed. But, pretty much every single vintage pair I've seen with the best fades have been made of No.2 denim. No idea why and it might just be one massive coincidence.
They'd already been soaked by the time I picked them up so I went by the shrunk measurements so no surprises there for me, ha. I'm just more about the loose fits these days and the 2000t cut isn't the one for me. Or my arse lmao.
Evisu remains one of the best denim I’ve ever handled ... also, my most fails, in terms of sizing decisions.
For me, tagged size numbers does not really mean much cuz they vary by production lots & denim type/lot. I still prefer getting the RAW version, but like CTB, I’m basing my sizing decision from actual preshrunk measurements.
Next time I’m in Kyoto, I may go for a 2001 or 2005 in No.2 with a single, right side backpocket seagull painted in their store color.
