I'm a lobster thanks to going on holidays this summer in Australia. Hard to tan if you use sunscreen, easy to get melanoma/skin cancer if you don't. It's catch 22, I got the short end of the stick.

The people who got the best tan are the ones who move a lot, swim a lot, stay active, because then the sun hits you evenly all across your body, meaning you don't get consistent rays on one area of your body (ala sunbaking). The shoulders, nose and upper back/neck are the most common places people get sunburn, so bear that in mind when sunscreening.

Oh I am, but I went on holidays in New South Wales, wasn't sure if non-Australians know where that is/care at all, so I just went with "holidays in Australia"

I tan. I try to do it as infrequently as possible, because I don't really want to be dark. I don't want people seeing me and being like "tanning bed much?" but I do it because it helps keep my skin clear.
