I need one too. I''m leaning towards an Etro scarf, but maybe I'll get something with long tassels.

good wool scarves > cashmere scarves. no pilling! just as soft, and warmer. stop in at a few of your local area charity/thrift stores, keep your eyes open for anything w pure lambswool... I'm all about plaids and bright solids at the moment.

I recently bought an awesome wings&horns grey/red plaid scarf but it better last me a very long time for what it cost. Also the ends are pointed and look very nice with the wings&horns spade logo.

I bought it at Nomad in Toronto but I am sure it was the last one of darker scarves. They had the lighter grey with maroon as well as solid black and white scarves. They also had a Nom de Guerre scarf in green/white but it was the last one and $200 but is extremely soft and luxurious. I can't recall all of the fibres but it included cashmere, lambswool, cotton, silk and rayon I think but I doubt it's still there.

I so agree. I couldn't live without my Hermès scarf. I have a dark brown one, but all the other colors are amazing. I'm intrigued by an Hermès orange one....

Softest things ever...

Totally agree with the houndstooth. I feel it's the new black and white stripes. Houndstooth scarves on the streets for $5.

Im into the varied thin-stripe linen scarves, particularly from Etro. Then again, in San Diego, we can get away with wearing scarves made of linen.

thanks for all your suggestions.

i've seen a few people with scarfs which look more elastic-tougher material-not cashmere -in electric blue and a purple on with stripes (sounds very vague) anybody know what these could be?
