Ketamine has medical uses that span further then cat tranqs.

One of Ketamines uses include an anesthetic for babies and children as whilst the drug is in use the respiratory system continues to function - i.e no need for a breathing apparatus as with most general anesthetics.

And the fascination comes from the fun factor. Yahoo!
