ive been trying to figure out the whole my future thing lately (college/majors n shit)

and i started thinking about broadcast journalism. im a good writer, but ive never taken a journalism class before. i can improv/speak/present myself pretty well after all my years of theatre and whatnot.

i hear you get paid well +

sacrifice much of your life -

travel alot +

highly competitive -

no family =

potential death in field +/-

anyone else try it?

im not going for broadcast journalism, but film, though i am taking a journalism course next year at school.

As a (photo-) journalism at a big university with a well known and respected journalism department I can tell you this...

The biggest douchebags in our school of journalism always seem to be broadcast majors...it's in their blood i think.

agree that people who aspire to anchor jobs are very likely to be huge tools

but i think it also takes a lot of ego, and some serious stones, to be a warzone correspondent

those people sometimes do brave and important work
