Sorry for the late reply - I hope your travel was safe!

I'm not sure what kind of food/drink places you guys like but there are a lot of options nearby.

High end Food: $75-100/couple(minus alcohol)

Steel (indo-chine) - http://www.steeldallas.com/

Trulucks (steak) - http://trulucks.com/

Bob'sSteak & Chop Shop (steak) - http://www.bobs-steakandchop.com/

Taco Diner - (mex) - http://www.mcrowd.com/tacodiner.html

Midrange but interesting: $35-60/couple(minus alcohol)

Breadwinners (misc/american) - http://www.breadwinnerscafe.com/index.php

Dream Cafe (organic) - http://www.thedreamcafe.com/

Cafe Madrid (spanish tapas) - http://www.cafemadrid-dallas.com/

Chuy's (mexican) - http://www.chuys.com/

A pretty interesting day activity would be the Dallas World Aquarium which is very close to you and pretty fun. http://www.dwazoo.com/d/

Belmont Hotel has a very cool bar and restaurant that's close to downtown. Very hip area - http://www.belmontdallas.com/

Downtown is a very cool restaurant/bar/venue called City Tavern. Great place to grab a drink and see folks. Also there are other restaurants on that street within walking distance if you wanted to explore.

PM if you have more specific stuff you're interested in.

Headed to Dallas this coming weekend.. any sufu approved shopping in town?

Northpark Mall is about it, probably. There is a Barney's, a small H&M (first in the state) and quite a few designer stores (more women's stuff, though).

Let me know if you want some bar/restaurant recs.

^ Yeah for sure bro.. my Friday is booked up with stuff that locals are taking me out to (restaurant, planned open bar NYE party, etc) but Saturday is wide open. Where's some good Korean food? Also some Texas BBQ would be nice, would like to see how it holds up against my hometown (Memphis) bbq :P

edit: oh and where are the good beer spots?

I don't eat Korean food regularly, but there are a bunch of Korean restaurants/businesses around I-35 and Royal Ln. Maybe someone else can chime in and help you out more specifically, though.

Unfortunately, the Dallas area is not really known for having good BBQ. The best stuff is all further south. That being said, Sonny Bryan's is a Dallas institution with multiple locations in the area. I've heard good stuff about http://www.offthebonebarbeque.com/ but have never been there...and I'm not sure they are really specifically Texas bbq.

For good beer selection, check out the Ginger Man (there's one in both Dallas and Fort Worth). There's also a place called the Meddlesome Moth that has a nice beer selection and pretty damn good food, too. A little more trendy than the Ginger Man, but still fun. There are plenty of other little bars around with pretty strong beer selections, but you'll probably find the largest lists at those places.

Some other bars I like are the Amsterdam Bar (great jazz on monday nights), Lee Harvey's (nice, out of the way place that is basically an old house with a big backyard).

The Bishop Arts district in Oak Cliff (south dallas) has some fun restaurants. Sunday brunch at Hattie's is always nice (reservations are a good idea). Bolsa has good food and good cocktails.

PM me if you want any other specific recommendations or anything.

edit: my bar recommendations are definitely on the divey side...Dallas also has plenty of options if you prefer your bars more upscale, douchey, classy, or whatever else.
