  1. Cool pic- nice dropping shoulder and it looks like he has cuffed the (too long) sleeves. His boots could be MF Road Champs The fits look even wider than today. @Le Clown Bleu's chinos might be close.
  2. I think, this a bit the standard phenomenon as with coffee, red wine, photography equipment, etc.. Like for some people say a Nudie Jeans jacket would be the same as a jacket from Slash Overalls. Which would be totally fine. Depends what people are interested in. Somehow a number of people interested in denim- especially here on the forum, where they tend to arrive- evolve in interest from say Nudie/Edwin to Oni and others to more repro makers like WH, TCB, FWs, etc.. And then of special interest like Roy are the one man/small team jeans artisans like Ooe YFT, CSF, BOT and Slash Overalls- as has been described in various posts here before. But back to your question- when I saw pictures of faded SO denim I got very interested. I started reading his blog then. And he has a very focused and uncompromising philosophy to be as close to the original vintage items as possible with regarding to fabric and also cut. His denim is a bit lighter with 12 and 12.5oz and now the newer one 13.5oz. And he had mentioned the ratios of the rises. So that and the overall aesthetic impression that I get from his products got me interested. But for sure, I have limits to what price I would pay. And also currently it seems nearly impossibe to buy one of his items, if you're not in Japan.
  3. The current prices of Slash Overalls. From his site: S01XX WWII (LF 44 12.5oz) and 1947 (SO02 (NP02) 12oz): JPY 44,000, 46,200 and JPY 48,400 (might depend on size or customer specifications) S06XX 1946 (LF 44 12.5oz): JPY 61,600 S06XXe 1946 (LF 44 12.5oz): JPY 66,000 S06XX 1946 (SO02 (NP02) 12oz): JPY 67,100 S06XX WWII (NP01 12oz): JPY 63,800 S06XXe WWII (NP01 12oz): JPY 66,000 I couldn't find the prices for today's sale event at Barnstormers Gotemba. For Junky Classics Yokohama next Sunday July 20th the following products and prices are stated: "regular line" S002: Jeans- JPY 44,000 to 50,600 (depending on size) Jacket: JPY 64,900 to 69,300 (depending on size) (Edited after reading again). He also has two fabrics recently developed, LF44B and SL01, that he refers to as XX Grade. These are limited in number. LF44B jeans. size 34 and 36: JPY 77,000 jacket: 42 and 49: JPY 99,000 Apparently the fabric LF44B will be shown at the Junky Classics offering for the first time. And then the SL01 fabric: Rough war period denim with doshaburi vertical fading characteristics As discussed before the special development by Okamoto Texitile. SL01 VINTAGE 2PRONG: jeans (at the moment only jeans): JPY 143,000 The high price is apparently a.o. due to the 2 prong button, which was very difficult to produce. Like at Barnstormers purchases at Junky Classics are limited to one jacket and one pair of pants per person.
  4. I got the TCB 50s in 34 and they're quite tight. 36 would have been better. Most other TCB I have are 36 and fit well. I wear the Resolute 710 in 36. So 36 should fit you well, I think. They're very cool jeans. But of course they're a 60s cut, so the leg opening is smaller than 40s and 50s. It's strange, how that changes. But while I found the 710s a few years ago quite normal or even a bit wide, now they feel quite narrow to me.
  5. Thank you. I'm referring to the Slash Overalls upcoming offers.
  6. Anyone planning to buy anything via Barnstormers in a few days? I've mailed them, but no reply yet. Might give them a call.
  7. They look pretty good. Good product. Is this shop by Earth Market new?
  8. That wasn't working at one point, but the link works now. So these all seem to be the new ones: https://bears-tokyo.myshopify.com/products/studio-dartisan-sd-101-15oz-right-hand-regular-straight https://item.rakuten.co.jp/earthmarket/sd-101-2836/ https://item.rakuten.co.jp/barnstormer3goten/bsd2188/ For 36 they all say something like 28.9 to 29.5cm for the front rise. This seems to be the old one. For a 36 the FR is 28cm. https://item.rakuten.co.jp/natty-passage/sd-101/?variantId=r-sku00000002 So the front rise is about 1-1.5cm longer. The main difference then is probably the back rise which Bears measures as 42cm. Previously it was ca. 40.5cm.
  9. What about the 101? Sorry, I had forgotten to mention, that I was looking into that model.
  10. Can you link to some shop pages, where they sell the "old" version vs. the "new"one? I'm not sure, if the ones at the shops now are the old or the new ones. The front rise can differ from 28cm to 30cm, while the price is the same.
  11. I only have that one. It's called Clerk Shirt. Made from Indian Madras fabric. This is a L. Quite a generous fit indeed. I also have two Beams+ madras shirts. They fit similarly, though one is L and the other XL.
  12. Deluxeware TShirt size L Again too small for me. I need two sizes larger. Therefore only worn a few times. Approximate measurements: shoulder to shoulder: 45cm (17.7“) pit to pit: 51cm (20.1“) back length: 67cm (26.4“) EUR 30 + shipping
  13. Making some space. Too many denim jackets. Cushman Type 2 Lot 21352 size 42 I've soaked this jacket. It might shrink a little bit more with a hot wash, but probably not much. For the bigger sizes T-structure was used or often for the type 2 sizes 42 and 44 side panels. This one has the side panels. 13.5oz selvedge denim. As you can see on the pics it has that relatively irregular structure as it has been woven on vintage shuttle looms. Approximate measurements: shoulder to shoulder: 49 cm (19.3“) pit to pit: 57 cm (22.44“) back length: 61.5cm (24.2“) shoulder to cuff (sleeve): 64.5cm (25.4“) As I've been focussing on my other jackets, this one has only seen a handful of wears. This had cost me around EUR 275. Looking for EUR 195+ shipping. Cushman's founder is seen here wearing the same jacket in the embroidered version. A pic from Barnstormers some more details Fading potential of the jacket and the jeans from the same denim (Lot 22177)
  14. Union Special M-1942 HBT cut-length trousers W32 waist: 40cm (15.75“) FR: 30cm (11.8“) BR: 45cm (17.7“) Inseam: 19,5cm (7.7“) Some info here: https://corlection.com/blogs/news/freewheelers-m-1942-hbt-cut-length-trousers https://sonofastag.com/products/freewheelers-2122021-m-1942-short-olive?variant=39490042855509 It took me quite some effort to find these. Unfortunately only in W32, which is too small, I have to realize. Therefore not much wear. Lovely fabric, nice details. These had cost me around EUR 200. Looking for EUR 135 + shipping. Chain stitch run offs intact.
  15. Union Special M-1942 HBT cut-length trousers Does anyone know, if these are still available somewhere in 36 or 34, olive? My 32 are too small. I have to accept that.
  16. I had checked the fees, seemed to have been around 7.5%, with something like 600 yen minimum. So not too bad.
  17. So what are the experience with the JapanRabbit proxy? Has anyone successfully bought through them and received the item? How easy is the money transfer/purchase process? Do you need their app or is it possible through a browser?
  18. Ah. I see Thank you I had done a quick search for the 162 and got images of jeans with Lee type rivets. I saw now, that those were for the Lot 161.
  19. Are both Lee repros? The second pair (162) seems to have protruding rivets vs. the usual flat ones like on the 147s. Perhaps just how it looks.
  20. Interesting stuff. Are both pairs still being offered? I think, there was a reissue recently of one of the pairs.
  21. What is the difference? The 22501XX's denim and cut are normally specified as for example at DC4: "13.5oz Raw Japanese Selvedge Denim from Conner’s Sewing Factory • WWII pattern based on original vintage pairs " At the above link (untouched) they write for the 22501: " 13.5 oz sanforized Japanese Selvedge Denim Levi's 1940's 501 WWII silhouette: high-rise, wide-leg straight fit Once washed, minimal shrinkage to be expected" Is for the 22501 sanforized denim used?
  22. Great, solid pair.
