  1. Makes sense. In the SC catalogue one can see it.
  2. I couldn't really see the arcs in the video. Does the 42 early period model still have stitched arcs? The pockets of the 45 can be seen around 12:20. I can't see stitched arcs. So they were probably still painted and had faded away. Some points of the late period 45 model: The coin pocket The direction of the pocket part (correct term?) is the same direction as the fabric of the legs. The tag with S501XX and the rare A. The 42 early period model (April to August 42): still crotch rivet rivets are copper plated iron (copper was need for ammunition/weapon production) (1937 model has smashed copper rivets for concealed rivets) On the flasher accordingly it changed from (concealed copper rivets in 1937 to concealed pocket rivets) Back of the buttons copper plated Black plated iron buckle Before this model with the flasher (apparently only 2 in the world, I guess he is not referring to 1942 models but to those with a flasher still on) was found it was assumed that the jeans were from 1937 or 1941. But on the flasher it says 1942. Interestingly the fabric underneath on the table is very similar to that of the pocket bags of the LVC 1944 made in Japan model.
  3. You're right. I hadn't checked that. I looked into. I have an older Golf Diesel. It's weight is 1092kg. A current Golf electric is 1615kg. https://www.ultimatespecs.com/car-specs/Volkswagen/3131/Volkswagen-Golf-4-16-16v-FSI.html https://ev-database.org/car/1087/Volkswagen-e-Golf edit: I checked curb weight for a similar model from 2019. It's heavier at 1295kg. https://www.auto-data.net/en/volkswagen-golf-vii-5-door-facelift-2017-1.5-tgi-130hp-dsg-37257
  4. I think the BEVs are often twice the weight of their ICE counterpart due to the battery. So it's all a mixed bag.
  5. The first time I was in the US, about ten years ago, in Miami, I had looked at the map and tried to walk. Like I'm used from Europe, at least when you're in the center of town. I didn't have a mobile connection then. So checked before on the net and had a rough idea. I quickly realized how big the distances were. What I had anticipated as a walk of 20 minutes was more than an hour. Also the people at the hotel were shocked, when I told them how I had walked back. Apparently I had walked through a very dangerous neighbourhood where you shouldn't walk through. I actually had a funny feeling but thought my mind was making it up. Luckily nothing happened. So the next day I took the bus. It was a bit unusual. So then I rented a car. I then realized, how much space there is. With many malls and restaurants just one floor and big parking spaces. I NY and SF later walking and public transport was ok. But there I found a car very necessary. And also very easy and convenient to drive and park.
  6. The price has basically doubled: from JPY 86,100 to 170,500. In 12 years. So according to the 70 rule the Timber Cruiser Index calculates about 6% inflation per year since then.
  7. Jelado USMC loop wheel tee Manufactured by Isamu Ono/Rebuilt. https://jelado.com/products/jelado-usmc-loopwheel-tee-ag82221?_pos=1&_sid=195a25fab&_ss=r tubular hanging knit jersey - Wakayama hanging knitting machine Cotton thread is used for the basic sewing thread, and silk thread is used for the under-stitching of the collar lining Three types of vintage sewing machines are used: FLATLOCK, two-needle wrapper sewing machine (collar binder) UNOIN SPECIAL 52800, a high-speed semi-automatic oiling sewing machine from the late 1930s. for the hem: UNIONSPECIAL G76000
  8. It looks really nice. But how often do you have to charge this one? And how long does charge take? Do you have cold climate? You're in Texas, no? So probably not ;D
  9. The USMC tshirt seems a bit short for XL and XXL with 66cm (26") and 67cm (26.4") resp..
  10. https://jelado.com/products/jelado-usmc-loopwheel-tee-ag82221?_pos=1&_sid=195a25fab&_ss=r
  11. I think, it's the same guy. He made a USMC tee for them.
  12. Wasn't the Rebuilt maker also manufacturing tshirts for Jelado? And I think the Cushman t shirts are also made using old sewing machines. Not sure, how that compares to the ones by Sure.
  13. The new Timber Cruiser Coat. Pretty special. Original 13oz Yarn-Dyed Duck
  14. Lovely shirts. The black chambray (?) is gone now. I have the slate grey one. Superb fabric and great cut. https://www.marrkt.com/collections/duke_mantee-freewheelers-and-co-collector-sale/products/union-special-trackwalker-shirt-1 The brown one is also very nice. https://www.marrkt.com/collections/duke_mantee-freewheelers-and-co-collector-sale/products/hobos-joint-delta-blues-shirt
  15. A pity. Not easy to establish a brand. But they tried and managed ten years. The brand after that was SARVA. Made in Sweden. https://www.instagram.com/denimdemonmfg/p/BHhoBZnjL75/
  16. No. I think, they had changed the brand name for some time or the concept. The Stockholm people should know. With Indigofera and Second Sunrise/Unionville, etc. I think it's a closely knit group.
  17. One of a kind collection. And seems to sell quickly. For me also unfortunately a bit too small. The Union Special and Hobo's Joint shirts I find especially nice. Is this 95% wool? Looks more like cotton twill. https://www.marrkt.com/collections/duke_mantee-freewheelers-and-co-collector-sale/products/union-special-overalls-trackwalker-shirt And this: https://www.marrkt.com/collections/duke_mantee-freewheelers-and-co-collector-sale/products/union-special-trackwalker-shirts The olive drab, I know, is.
  18. I still have a blanket lined type 2 and a pair of slim jeans in broken twill from Denim Demon. The brand was run by two brothers from the Same indigenous people of Scandinavia. So they had some references with colours and buttons to their heritage. I met the, I think, younger brother who did the designs. Very friendly. Looks like he knew about many intricate design details of vintage jeans. They had a cool pair of RW moc like boots in the style of their traditional boots.
  19. Perhaps he means unsanforized. Perhaps you can ask here: https://pants-shop-avenue.com/item/SC42966/
  20. Buzz Chinos O/W and N/W Sugar Cane 1953 Type 2 O/W
  21. Good to hear. Is that the Polo Snuff Suede? And how did you size? Say compared to Red Wing or Alden or Vans?
  22. All nice, but, yes, especially the brown duck Uplander. You got the XL, right? Do you find it fits very big?
  23. Very nice classical combination. Which Sanders do you wear? I think, there is a classical pair, which is very slim, from what I've heard. And there is another one, apparently for the Japanese market, that is sold in Europe exclusively by Son of a Stag, and that is a bit wider.
