  1. I think, the confustion stems from the following. One assumes, that 66 model refers to Levis 501XX made in the year 1966 as a blue print. Howeve it seems, that the definition is that the 501s produced from 1973 to 1980 are referred to as “66”. The name comes from the fact that “© 1966” was printed on the flasher. The 66 model is again subdivided into first half and second half models. Same same, but different is the Big E- model. This refers to the 501s produced from the late 1960s to 1973. After the Big E the red tab showed “LeVI’S”. Also the lot number was changed from “501XX” to “501”. According to this Japanese Denim somelier "mtk0058" among others the v stitch at the top button was used until 1969 and the parallel stitch from 1969/1970 onwards. There were also changes in the arcuate stitch colours and a switch from from back pocket hidden rivets to bartacking. So, I guess, when a 66 model is offered it can be one with Big E, first half 66 and second half 66 characteristics. And the cuts were probably also changing over the years. Clearest would probably be the following three models: 1. Big E with parallel stitches 1969-1973 2. 66 first half model and 3. 66 second half model There are probably other theories about this. But this is the info I had found on the insta of mtk0058 and in this article.
  2. FW has a pic of a well worn in one on their insta
  3. Very interesting. Goes to show that people wore these jackets in all kinds of ways: relatively tight or basically over sized like shown here. Perhaps he also wanted to wear a t-back 😉
  4. That is in the 2023 F/W catalogue.
  5. Wow Didn't think, that they would have come this far.
  6. @beautiful_FrEaK Which one is that? WH? And no cuffs? Looks good
  7. Yes- mi -> America Apparently from the phonetic use of the Chinese characters/kanji: 亜米利加 (the second character 米 is mi "rice") -> "a mi ri ka". For example: For England: "ei" 英, for Germany it's "doku" 独. Like 耳 mimi -> "ears" which is "selvedge".

But the pink vs. orange selvedge seems to be the difference.
  12. Yes, you can find it in many shops. In this thread, ten years ago or so ;-), somebody wrote about it. Chore coats or coveralls are really a classic item and have somehow not gotten so much attention it seem to me.
  13. Bumping the thread as Jelado is issuing a chore coat/coverall. A few more current options: Edwin/Lee Flathead Sugar Cane Orslow 50s 40s TCB Cathartt Chore Coat Workers Cat Day Coverall
  14. Yes, looks really good. Lee, licensed from Edwin, in Japan also has a 91-J Loco jacket. This one at 11.5oz jelt denim vs. the 10.5 light ounce Last Resort denim that Jelado are using for their 491J. Both seem to refer to models from the 40s. https://lee-japan.jp/features/archives_lm6512_pc.html

  18. These are particularly great. Also Lone Wolf seemed to have stopped production or doesn't even exist anymore. Did LW ever issue this Carpenter in rough out with the other sole, the Cat's Paw? Or only with the white Vibram?
  19. When I bought mine on YahooAuctions a few months ago there were quite a number of hardly worn pants on offer. Many between US$80 and 140.
  20. I hope you're also all getting your coffee beans in chain stitched bags.
  21. This is how the olive in 32 fit me. The 34 is more comfy.
  22. Yep, not wide, not long. I find them a good size. Great sturdy fabric. The rise is a bit higher, but fine, not excessive.
