  1. Comparing the DSB with the WWII denim. The jacket sleeve is from the Blanket lined Lot.2001XX(2000XX) which is the 7.5x7.5 pink selvedge DSB denim. The jeans are the 25th Anniversary S1001XX (1946) 6.7x6.6 orange selvedge WWII denim.
  2. Freewheelers Lot 601XXc 1937 LATE 1936-37 MODEL Original 14oz Indigo Denim right over left
  3. RRL, made in USA, 14.5 Cone denim Reversed yoke, also higher coin pocket and the side stitching is also longer
  4. I've got that jacket in 48. Compared to when I got it, after wear and a cold wash chest and shoulders remained more or less the same, sleeves and back length shortened by 2 and 1.5cm respectively. A great jacket, a bit lighter denim, interesting little details.
  5. How did you size the 45 jacket- 44?
  6. I agree. I was wearing contacts for many years, but apparently overdid it. So the optician strongly recommended to me to wear glasses again, which I've been doing now for a year. And in winter I have to wear a watch cap or similarly and I'm always happy when I get inside and can take it off. It just feels better. Before I'd sometimes wear a hat or cap the whole day.
  7. Recently besides their 105 and 107 OrSlow had released a 101 Dad's fit jeans. Now there is also a 101 Grand Dads Fit. Apparently 12oz. There is also one by Full Count. In their super smooth 11.5oz denim.
  8. Has there ever been a Warehouse type 1 or type 2 jacket made with the 1000XX memphis cotton (6x6, 14.5oz)?
  9. I see. Thanks So in the US, not in Japan. I'd be also interested in a pair via proxy.
  10. Would be good to see them irl. With all these vintage sewing machines the guys probably know a lot. Their denim is a bit on the lower weight side with 12.5oz compared to the other offers. But it might be historically correct. But who knows, perhaps they don't want to offer a full on repro but more something with a temporary twist. The rise for the W34 is not really low with 31cm raw. So the crowded fly could be because it's a smaller size pair. It would be interesting to have some pics of worn in pairs.
  11. Freewheelers Lot506XX 1933-34 • GroundAlls • Sugarcane 1947
  12. Good to know. So same WWII denim fabric, but the 42 is not as dark (but still not blue like the original denim). Kind of like the 47 and 51 are the same fabric, but different dyes.
  13. That would be cool, if the 42 jacket becomes available again. Isn't it funny, how one becomes very interested in items such as this much much later. I've had that many times
  14. In this one they're talking about the 42 jacket. They're saying, that the fabric is WWII denim, darker, coarser compared to the more blue 47 one.
  15. I was refering to this post. @shredwin_206did you eventually get the 42s? Any more info on what is different about the denim from the other WWII ones?
  16. Probably similar to Roy selling vis SE. It makes the marketing easier, I guess, frees the craftsman from fulfilling individual orders, etc..
  17. I had noticed that, too. This shop has a lot of their stuff. https://www.rakuten.co.jp/a-gogo-wear/
  18. The prominent vertical fading seems to be characteristic for vintage WWII denim. Both FWs and WH have that in their WWII denim. When you look at the 1942 denim it also has the some thicker warp yarns. So, even if it is different from the 1943, 44, 45 denim, it's probably still closer to that than to the original denim or the red cast 20s/30s denim.
  19. Ah, that pair. I understand. Artistic licence based on historic details, which is their thing mostly, isn't it. Nice They have revisited that arc with this pair in 2021: https://freewheelers.co.jp/blog/desolation-row/lot-601-xx-early-1922-special-model-desolation-row-exclusive/
  20. Regarding the 1942- there had been some post saying that the denim is different from the other WWII jackets, but also from the 46/47 and from the 1922/1933. Any more info/insight on that? Also the 1946 ones from 2020 with the flannel pocket were the same denim as the 601XX 1947. Perhaps the WWII denim was created after that.
  21. I think, currently besides the 46/47 you can mostly find the S506XX 1944/45.
  22. Yes, the 1951 507 and also the 46/47 506 are annual products, I think. But with the popularity of the other versions I wouldn't be surprised, if they get released again. But who knows. What size are you looking for?
  23. What are the 1939 jeans? Found that recently on FW's site from 2013: "LOT 601 XX” . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1939 model 5 pocket jeans" https://freewheelers.co.jp/blog/collection/2013-spring-collection - -made-to-order-clothes-of-giants-in-spring/ @Duke Manteeprobably knows, might even have a pair.
  24. Oh, man. I've had that many times. Sometimes the site here will remember/keep what one had written.
